CHAPTER 15: THE HISTORY

Five days have passed since the incident...

"Urgh... Erm..." Rafiz groaned as he opened his eyes.

He felt his body so sore like getting hit by a truck. His mind was also in a blurry state. He looked around the room he was in. This looks like his room in Ryam Town.

"I'm not dead…?" He slowly began to remember Dark Spincer's attack on him.

He also didn't manage to get a single hit on Dark Spincer.

Oh, wait.

He did wound Dark Spincer's neck but it doesn't seem serious like he was in now. Afterwards, Dark Spincer stabs him as he uses his body to protect Kairi. His eyes widened when he recalled Kairi's situation.

"Kairi!"

He yelled in fear and tried to get out of the bed. He fell over while trying to stand up.

Kairi who was just about to enter the room was startled to hear his name. He opened the door to Rafiz's room quickly and saw Rafiz was on the floor, groaning in pain and pale while sweating.

"Rafiz! Why did you get out of bed?! Your injuries have not healed yet!"

Kairi ran to Rafiz, picked him up and put him on the bed again. He may be inferior to Rafiz but his strength was capable of lifting people bigger than him. Moreover, his strength has increased since the first time he awakened his power.

During these five days when Rafiz was still comatose, he had practised using his powers with the help of Virgo, Pegasus and Aries. He wanted to be stronger so that he could help Rafiz and others if they were in danger again.

"Kairi..." Rafiz called in a low voice while staring at Kairi tiredly.

His eyes look at Kairi's body all over, searching for any injuries. He released a breath of relief when he didn't see any wounds.

"Yes? I'm here, Rafiz." Kairi replied and he raised the blanket to Rafiz's chest.

"You... Are you okay, Kairi?"

He still wanted to ask while his one hand that felt so heavy was still forced to touch Kairi's cheek.

Kairi gently grabbed the hand that touched him and nodded. He realised Dark Spincer's attack had Rafiz worried over him but luckily Rafiz saved him before anything happened. They should feel very lucky to be alive right now.

"I'm okay... And, thank you so much for protecting me, brother. Now, please rest. Don't worry about anything else, okay?"

Kairi smiles at him.

"Good… Good…" Rafiz replied until he felt he was sleepy again.

His eyes also were getting heavier and finally, he closed his eyes again. A soft sound of snoring sounded in Kairi's ear. Kairi put down Rafiz's hand he held on the bed again and put it under the blanket.

"I promise I'll be stronger than this, Rafiz." He whispered.

"Should I kill him?" Kairi was startled by a greatsword placed around Rafiz's neck.

"Pegasus!" Kairi was angry.

"I'm joking." Pegasus makes his weapon disappear.

His power was in the form of weapon and elemental, similar to Rafiz and Virgo. There were also other abilities. Aries was in the mental and weapon ability while Agi had a weapon, mental and elemental abilities.

Agi should be the strongest one among them but he has weak stamina. A long battle was not recommended or he might die.

Dark Spincer was in the weapon and physical ability, and Dark Ries has the physical and mental ability. They have all of these abilities because they were helped by their medium, the emblems. But, if their physical strength was already strong, they can enhance their physical ability when used with their emblems.

"That shouldn't be a joke!" Kairi growled at Pegasus.

"You two, what's with all this noise? Can't you see that Rafiz is resting?"

Aries, who had just arrived at the door of the room, scolded them. Kairi and Pegasus felt guilty and apologised. Aries nodded. Then, she headed toward the edge of Rafiz's bed.

"He was conscious for a moment," Kairi told her.

Aries nodded again.

"Did he say anything?" She asked.

"He was worried about my condition and I told him I was fine. Then, he went back to sleep. He's still weak..."

Kairi was gloomy to see Rafiz. Rafiz always looks strong in front of him. He never shows Kairi his weak side.

"I sympathize with you both. Your past is very painful to know..." Aries's eyes formed tears but she brushed them away with her palm.

She, Virgo, and Pegasus were told by Rafael about Rafiz and Kairi's tragic past. They were shocked to find out about their stories. When they get out of Rafael's study room, their expressions look awful and sad.

Compared to them, their hometown was still safe because it was in the Syarantonia Kingdom which was under the Bright Star's supervision. But some war occurred sometime between the Bright Star and the Deorc Star. However, it was not to the extreme where all residents were annihilated.

Aries was depressed by their past while Pegasus left them in the room. Outside, Virgo was waiting for him. The two of them left after that, taking a walk in the forest to monitor the situation around the village.

They have been doing this since the night Rafiz was injured by Dark Spincer to keep the situation around the village safe from danger.

"We should move out soon to Syarantonia. This place is no longer safe for Kairi." Pegasus started the conversation.

Virgo nodded in agreement.

"Do you think we should take Rafiz and Rafael with us?" He asked Pegasus for his opinion.

Leaving the formal and new Dark Lordany here was like waiting for their death.

Pegasus moved his eyes to Virgo and looked forward again. "That would be a disaster. Do you want them to be eliminated by our Bright Star members?"

He thought Virgo was naive to think everything would go that easy. Dark Lordany was their foe even if they were no longer on Deorc Star's side. They might just kill them now instead of getting killed by their comrades.

"But, this town is in danger right now. We don't know when the Deorc Star users are going to come and attack this place." Virgo was distressed.

"It's useless to worry about that right now. We should be worried if Rafael is telling us the truth or waiting in silence for our guard to be down before killing us."

Pegasus's words were reasonable. Virgo looks stunned.

"I... I don't think so... Maybe you're right but... I want to believe in Kairi." Virgo trusted Rafael and Rafiz because of Kairi.

Pegasus let out a sigh. There was no way to make Virgo change his mind so Pegasus just kept quiet.

"By the way, Knight Seeyer, in the past, aren't they the heroes who helped our ancestors?" Virgo asked.

"Yes. They were formed during Queen Siarah's reigns before the Bright Star users have all gathered under her call. If I'm not mistaken, Draco vessel was one of the Knight Seeyer." Pegasus try to remember their history.

Virgo gasped. "Could it be that Queen Siarah has married Draco at that time?" He guessed because Kairi was born from that clan.

"Maybe. Knight Seeyer is a clan that doesn't mix with us but they are loyal to Queen Siarah. History says that Draco and Knight Seeyer disappeared after defeating the Deorc Star of that time... Including her Majesty." Pegasus thinks it makes sense.

Queen Siarah's whereabouts were not stated in their history. It was like she needed to disappear for something.

"So, in conclusion, Draco is the closest suspect about her majesty's disappearance but... We have not heard of Draco's emergence in these 500 years. He also never appears in all our meetings."

Pegasus was silent for a moment. "Draco may have no heir. Probably because to keep Queen Siarah heir in check so Draco user is not born."

"Eh, how can that be! Then, where did the Draco chain emblem go?" Both of their thoughts went back to the Knight Seeyer's clan.

"Maybe it was destroyed before or after Dark Ries appeared..." Pegasus guessed.

Virgo was miserable to hear it. They lost twelve Bright Star users. Can they defeat Deorc Star by a small number?

After a long patrol and they did not feel any danger, they returned to the Ryam Town again.
