Eugenie could have doubted Agost and put him behind the bars for investigation. Well, she wasn't going to do that without proof.

There are chances, it will lead to an ugly misunderstanding between Alora and them. Alora would think they did something to send Agost away from her.

Nonetheless, Eugenie's train of thought was in different directions. Why would Agost kill the shopkeeper after taking his help?

Killing the shopkeeper after meeting him would put direct suspicion on Agost. Agost wouldn't be a fool to kill and admit to them that he took help from the herb store shopkeeper.

There were high chances somebody else had a hand in it. Eugenie turned to Freya, "Freya, interrogate Agost Wilburn. Inform him about the shopkeeper."
