Faith

Throwing the leaf, Arihan had just turned to Alora when he witnessed her slipping. He instinctively caught her hand.

Arihan knew the body's reaction to the fall and tug. Yet he calmly tried to make her stand without panicking.

His eyes brushed around in the water but found nobody. Not even a fly. The first thought that crossed his mind was an invisible mage but as far as he knew there was no such mage in the Anka.

Even if there was one or somebody crossed the Anka, Alora would have at least pointed the mage for him.

Was he overthinking?

Before he could lower his guard, there was another tug as if somebody was pulling Alora away from him.

Having no idea how powerful the invisible threat was, Arihan added more force and decisively tugged Alora into his arms.

Alora hadn't seen the obsidian eyes in a long time. She had even forgotten they hadn't resolved the mystery behind those eyes.
