Disown Me?

*************

CHAPTER 9

Seconds turned to minutes and later into hours... For a very long time, Andromeda's phone buzzed the living daylight out of her but she ignored it.

She had better things to do and more grand plans to make.

Placing her phone on her left ear, Andromeda waited for an answer as the ringtone started.

Since she wished to rise in the fashion industry, there were calls she needed to make and people she needed to see.

But more importantly, she had one goal, to rise using Wu Bai's enemy. Nothing would hurt him more than seeing that happen.

"Hello," the soft voice of a young lady resounded in her ears, bringing a smile to her face.

"Peng Xiaoli."

"Good afternoon ma," the young lady greeted. "Happy married… Umm sorry."

She had almost forgotten herself. Earlier in the day, Andromeda had called her to inform her of her decision and the fact that she should not go anywhere close to that wedding venue.

Although she did not give her details, her assistant obeyed. "It is okay. I do not expect you to change the notion so quick, but I am not paying you to not change that notion."

"My apologies."

"No worries. I need you to help me get the information, contact number and email first of the CEO of Liu Corporation. Afterwards, send his full information to my mail. I need to know more about my future business partner."

"Umm... do you mean, the Liu Corporation? Second top designer fashion house in the country?"

"Yes. That one."

"And the CEO?" She cringed a bit even though Andromeda wasn't there to see her. She was already anticipating her yell. "Isn't he an opposing company?"

Letting out a deep sigh, Andromeda nodded, "Yes. And trust me, do not ask that same question, Xiaoli. Get it done."

"Okay, Miss."

She ended the call and waited for her response.

While she did that, she got her iPad and pencil and began drawing. All she could do now to get her mind off things was pour her anger and pain as well as her goal into her work.

It took her assistant fifteen minutes and she already sent her a mail containing his email and phone number.

"Bingo," Andromeda let out as soon as she saw the message on her iPad screen.

Ignoring it briefly, she finished drawing and by the time she was done, his information was forwarded to her.

"Alright, Mr Liu, time for business."

Picking her phone again, she called her assistant once more. "Evening."

"Evening. Yes, please schedule a meeting with him for me, please. And I want it as soon as you can."

"I am sorry. I already tried to contact his secretary even though it wasn't working hours to do that before you asked."

"How efficient. So, what is the news?"

"Mr Liu is busy. His schedule is full until the next two months."

"What!"

"I am sorry. He…"

"Do not worry. I would get him myself on Monday. Thanks."

"Oh and I found out he would be travelling tomorrow for a meeting and arriving Monday night," Peng Xiaoli informed her.

"Okay. I can wait two more days then."

****

On her wedding day, she ignored all calls. She only checked her call log the next day, when she felt much better.

There were forty missed calls from Wu Bai and twenty others from several people.

As she scrolled through the list of missed calls, her eyes caught sight of one and she paused.

That was one person, she wished not to even have anything to do with, but as though that was not enough, he sent a message just like her useless ex.

Her once calm face contorted as her nostrils flared. "Andromeda Kai! Call me ASAP when you get this text or else."

Urgh! She felt like screaming in her head but she kept her calm as she placed a call to him.

She patiently waited until he answered the call and waited for him to speak.

Sure enough, he never disappointed as the always angry tone of his voice shot straight for her ears. "Andromeda! How dare you embarrass my family name like that?"

She rolled her eyes at him whilst he continued. "You wanted to get married and yet you invited me. After saying I would not have anything to do with you, your mother pushed that I went and what did I get? An embarrassment?!"

"She is not my mother!"

"Andromeda!"

She clenched her fist at her side and barred her teeth. "Father!" she let out, trying to suppress her anger.

"How can you do this? Do you think my reputation is one to be messed with, huh?"

"I see all you ever thought about was your reputation and never me nor my mother's happiness. Worry not. I would not embarrass you again."

"There would be no need. Since you could not respect me as your father, I have disowned you."

She scoffed at his words, clenching her fists tighter as a cold sinister laughter tore through her lips.

"Andromeda."

"Disown? Did you ever really own me? Mother died and you waited not even a week before bringing in that wench."

"Stop talking about your mother like that," her father corrected in anger.

"She is not my mother! I have no mother. My mother is dead."

The weight in which she voiced out those words, sending all her anger and hate in it sent a cold chill down her father's spine.

"Darling, please do not say that to her. She is still grieving. Do not disown her," a lady's voice resounded from the other end of the phone.

"Tsk, hahhaa, playing the good wife role again, huh?"

"Andromeda, I love you as I love my daughters, please you need to…"

"Save it for who cares. I was the stupid one who wanted to share my day with someone who never cared. Thanks for disowning me. I hope you never regret those words and come running back."

She ended the call, ignoring his obvious calling of her name. It was useless. She was not going to cry over spilt milk.

He had been like this since, she just did not realize it sooner until her mother's death.
