...

THE SKIES ABOVE THE SUMMERLANDS, once robed in the gold of noon were now ashen in the teal umbrage of Night. Dusk in Syveria was much similar to its dawn.

The heavens became grandly distinct with red streaks and passings clouds shaped like amber feathers. But in only a few tollings of the Temple's bell, signalling the fall of Vespers, the glory of the summer sunset was darkened into night.

Torches went up around the city, red flames leaping in metal vases and sconces, granting pale luminescence everywhere. The drapes hanging down lordly estates became polished at their light and the blazons of various Houses seemed sentient as the winds parted them.

Beyond, into the reaches of the descended night was the Ivory Castle. Lit in the light of so many strategically placed candles, it gleamed as a fallen star upon the earth. Like a comet rushed into the ground and not an actual castle.
