A load of information

They reached Mar's hut. She came down from his back. "You may go inside if you like. It's hot in here outside. This is my hut, you are safe here. You have nothing to worry. Those guys won't bother you in here. " Mar said.

Ren went inside, followed by Mar. She found a wooden chair and sat down. Wanted to clear things from her mind, she asked Mar a lot of questions.

"If you don't mind me asking. They said things about mates. Can you explain things to me? I really don't understand what all of them are saying. I am not from around here. Everything is kind of confusing." Ren asked.

"Males in this village mostly don't have mates. Mates means being a female like you and a male, living together and having children of their own. A female can have a lot of mates in her entire life. Producing offspring for her mates. It is the female who chooses who she wants to be mates with.

Some female has five mates, some have ten or even twenty mates."

"The population in our villages are low. Having to produce a child means good for our village. Females are a very important someone for most of the males. They feel lucky if a female gives birth to their offspring." Mar added.

All of this information is overflowing in her brain. She is now convinced she is not in her world anymore. Human turns into a tiger, a village of beast. Females who have a lot of husbands. This feels like a world in a fantasy that she has been reading a lot since she is a kid.

She notices that Mar became quite. Although she is still confused and are trying to put everything in her brain, she is a smart girl and she understood that all of these things in this world are not normal unlike from where she grow up. She talks to Mar again to make a conversation.

"I'm sorry if I asked too many questions. This kind of things is new to me." Ren said.

"I don't mind answering your questions Ren, as long as you feel comfortable in this village." Mar feeling bashful. This kind of things, talking with a female up close is also new to him. He isn't used to talking with females as he hates them.

Ren is wondering why nobody is at home beside them. "May I asked where is your mate? She may get angry if I stay here without her knowing."

"I don't have a mate. I really don't like talking with the females in the village. They feel that they are all high above us men. They don't even care about their mates even if the male dies."

Ren feels like Mar is upset and stop asking questions. For now she needs to understand how are thing works in this place. She needs to learn these things sooner so she can adapt.
