The fruit wine

Mar and Ren went into the kitchen at the back of the hut. Mar is thinking of grilling the meat and the fish, but Ren wanted some stew.

"Can we have some stew today? A fish stew. We can grill the meat, but I want a fish stew, please."

Mar smiled and took the clay pot and put it in the clay stove. "Okay Ren, we will have a fish stew. Do you know how to cook? If not, I will cook it for you."

She shyly response, "Of course I can cook. I have been helping in the kitchen at the orphanage for a long time."

Ren can't believe that usual ingredients can be found in Mar's hut. She thought that he only knows how to grill food.

She then took some tomatoes and turn it into a paste. She started sautéing the garlic and onion and added some tomato paste in the pot.

The air in the kitchen smells lovely. She then put some parsley, a pinch of salt and some clean water, added the fish and let it boil.

Mar is surprised to see that she really is cooking, and it smells so good.

The fish stew is done. Mar is also nearly done grilling the wild boar meat. Ren is really hungry, and salivating with the smells of the food.

She then prepares the wooden plate on the table. They both eat and enjoyed the food.

Mar put out some fruit wine. He pours on their mug. "Let's drink some wine to celebrate us becoming mates."

"That would be great. I have never really tasted a wine before, but this smells good."

"This is a fruit wine, I made myself. I love drinking this when something good happens. I hope you like it."

She loves how it tastes. It's mild and really delicious.

"I hope a lot of good things to happen in our life now. Now that we are a mate, I hope for us to have a happy family." Ren said shyly.

"Would you like to have some kids in the future?" Mar replied.

"I would love to have kids." Ren is now wondering if the kids will be like her or like Mar. "Do babies born as a human or as a cub?"

"They are born as a human, but the males at the age of 13, they will be able to turn themselves as a tiger beast just like me."

"How about the girls? Don't they turn as a tiger too?"

"No, they can't. Only males can turn as a beast."

Ren is quite relieved to know that the girls don't transform into a beast. She wants her girls to be normal just like her.

She smiles and dreaming about their future.

"Ren, may I know if you still wanted some other mates?" He hates asking this but he really wants to know.

"We just became mates, and I really didn't think about having husband as I know it's still early and I am still young. I like you, I really do, I think you are such a nice and gentle person and would love you as a family. I have never thought of having more mates than you."

"May I asked you what husband means? This is the first time that I have heard of that term."

Ren smiled "husband means male mates." She touched Mars face gently.

"I see, I understand. But why did you say you are young? You may look small to me, but you don't look that young. I'm sorry, but may I ask how old are you?"

"I am only 17 years old. From where I came from, 18 is the legal age to have a mate."

"Oh, alright. But in here 16 years old females are the ages to have mates. No wonder you think you are too young. But I think you are perfect."

"Thank you Mar, I think you are perfect too. By the way, how old are you."

"I am 25. I'm quite old if you must say."

"You don't look old, you actually look young and handsome."

Mar is really happy to hear that. "Did you really think so?"

"Yes, and I will tell you again, you are perfect. I have never seen a more handsome man than you."

He felt a butterfly again in his stomach. He really is happy and fond of her. His red face says it all. He then kissed Ren on the forehead and brush her long wavy hair.
