The fireplace

The days are fast and the winter season came.

Pile of thick snow is everywhere.

It's getting colder so everyone in the villages goes out to hunt less often.

Most of them have preserved some food either with salt or with ice from the snow. And because of that, the winter season isn't so awful for everyone, especially for the females.

Ren is feeling terribly cold. With the long coat she is wearing and a hide blanket around her, she still feels the cold air getting into her skin.

Mar noticed this and hug Ren from the back. His body temperature is hot, so this makes Ren comfy.

He is worried that Ren might get sick so he want to think of something that can warm the place up.

"What are you thinking?" Asked Ren.

"I think we need to find a way to make this home comfortable for you to live in, specially this cold season."

"We could put a fireplace and chimney here or like a campfire in the middle."

"What is a chimney and a campfire? "

"A chimney is usually on the wall like a tube that goes up to the roof of a house, so that the smoke will go straight up and out. A campfire on the other hand, are just like a file of wood in the middle of a campsite that can be used for warmth and cooking too. By the way, a campsite is where people gather and stay for the night where they make a small hut to sleep."

"Okay, I see. Then I guess we can make a fireplace with a chimney in here."

"But that's a lot of work, and besides, it's too cold."

"I am not that feeling cold love. I guess because I am a male. I need to do this so you won't get cold and won't get sick."

"Okay then, if you say so."

"Stay in the kitchen for a while, it's a little bit warm in there, because of the fire for cooking. I will come to you and ask you for some of the details about the fireplace and the chimney."

"That would be great, I will be in the kitchen drinking some tea to make myself warm."

Mar wearing his long coat that made by Ren, went out and gather the materials he thinks he needed.

He able to gather some Fieldstone, woods, some clay and sand.

He then started to dig one side of their hut for this project. Their hut is made of stones, clay and sand. So he thought it would also be a good idea to make the fireplace out of those materials as he knows that they are sturdy.

He then lay-out the materials and started.

Ren thought it would be a laborious project.

Little by little, Mar can see the outcome of his little fireplace. He then sometimes asked Ren for some input about the project.

The sun sets and Mar finish his little project. He is glad he finished it soon than expected. With his muscular build, this is very natural.

He then calls Ren who is about to finish her 5th cup of tea.

She is so amazed with the outcome of the fireplace. With a wood finish, this hut looks like a cabin, she thought.

Ren went in front of the fireplace and hold out her hand to feel the warmth of the fire. The smile never fades in her face.

Mar is so happy seeing how Ren loves the fireplace.

He thens hugs her from the back as he usually does.

"Do you like it? How are you feeling?"

"Like it? No, I love it. And I am not feeling cold anymore thanks to you."

"This is actually your idea."

"Yes, but you are the one who made this and built this with just a day. You really are great, did you know that?"

Mar blushes, he feels quite happy hearing this. He loves it when Ren praises him.

He hugged Ren tighter and kissed her cheek.

Ren faces Mar and kiss him on the lips.

"Thank you Mar, thank you for all this great thing that you do for me."

"If it's for you, I will do everything."
