Chapter 35

Our induction ceremony was supposed to be held in the evening but we arrived at the pack around 9 a.m. I didn’t want to face Jake and address the issue with Greg so I went to the daycare. Diana didn’t want to leave me there alone so she came with me and I felt bad for pulling her away from her time with Greg.

Greg assured me it was okay and he needed to use the day to get all his things ready before the ceremony.

“Do you have a dress for the ceremony?” Diana asked and I just shrugged.

“I’ll just wear one of my old dresses,”

“Are you insane?” she asked, “This is like the most important day of your life. You can’t wear an old dress.”

“I don’t have any money to get a new one,” I admitted embarrassingly and she rolled her eyes.

“Of course you do,” she said as she handed me a card, “Logan asked me to give this to you; this is the account he’s going to be paying your salary into as well as where you get paid for the brownies you’ve been supplying.”
