That night after putting the kids to bed Rose cries in Maya’s arms. She had been deeply hurt and disappointed at how things had become.
Maya tries to console her. “Things are sometimes not as bad as we think, my dear Robin.”
Rose looks at her tells her, “But sometimes they are. I can’t believe he just left without a word. He never even called me once.”
Maya softly asks her, “If he did not call and you were thinking of him, then why did you not call?”
Rose looks at Maya as fresh tears leak out of her eyes, “I didn’t tell you. I had called him that weekend he left. I also called him when that woman first took over his cabin, claiming it was her space now as appointed by Alec. I had called him that afternoon also. I just didn’t tell you because I was hurt that he never even bothered to call me back.”
As Maya lets that information seep in, she asks her in a gentle tone, “What really started all this? What happened that created this gap between you two?”
