Chapter 2: I'm Engaged?

"I hold the title of the Empress. What actions or tasks do I need to undertake or complete in order to accomplish a specific goal or objective?"

"After that, I'd probably go back to my reality, my real world," she added.

The woman had a pleasant expression on her face, curving her lips upwards in a display of contentment so that the servant will stop saying nonsense towards her.

"The decision is up to you. I am present and available to assist you with any possible means at my disposal."

Ming Zhu expressed agreement by nodding her head. Despite being aware of her lack of knowledge, she possessed a resolve to become a proficient Empress and learn from it even though her mind is still out of focus. She possesses the qualities of compassion and wisdom since her past life, which would guide her in ruling over her people. Under her leadership, she would steer her people towards a future that is filled with hope and positivity.

"Just list down everything I need, I want to make this better altogether."

"Sure, I can help you with that! I will rewrite your text in a simple and expanded manner, while maintaining the good guidance for you. Don't worry empress," Ji Yue said.

The initial days of Ming Zhu's reign as Empress were filled with a flurry of activities and events, creating a sense of excitement and rapid movement. In order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the empire, she had to acquire knowledge about its historical events, cultural practises, and the way its government functioned. In addition to that, she had the responsibility of holding meetings with her advisors and ministers in order to address the urgent matters that were affecting the empire.

One of the key matters that held significant importance was the engagement union of Ming Zhu and Emperor Yingwu Huang from the neighbouring kingdom of Tianlong Guo. The previous Emperor of Haoxing Guo had arranged the marriage, with the intention of strengthening the alliance between the two empires.

Ming Zhu, unfortunately, was not excited or anticipating the wedding.

"For God sake! I don't want to be married! I don't want to be tied with the man I don't know!" Prior to this encounter, Ming Zhu never had the opportunity to cross paths with Emperor Yingwu Huang. However, through the grapevine, she had been exposed to various rumours regarding his character, which painted him as a distant and merciless individual , and she thought that he was just as bad as the boys she knew in college.

"Tsk, he's nothing but a headache still."

Although Ming Zhu had doubts and concerns, she understood that she had no choice but to proceed with the wedding. As the Empress, it was her responsibility to ensure the long-term stability and prosperity of Haoxing Guo.

Ming Zhu wore a stunning red wedding gown on her wedding day. Her father, who happened to be the previous Emperor, accompanied her as she made her way to the altar.

"Are you ready to be married now, Ming Zhu, my dear?"

"I am not ready father. But what can I do, I need to do it no matter what, right?"

"Of course, for the goodness of your empire."

At the altar, Emperor Yingwu Huang was patiently anticipating her arrival. He was mesmerizd by Ming Zhu's beauty. The man was of a considerable height and had a commanding presence. His hair was dark in colour, and his eyes were strikingly green and intense. The emperor was dressed in a magnificent robe adorned with a golden dragon motif, and he had a regal jade crown resting on top of his head.

The duration of the wedding ceremony was brief, and it followed a straightforward and uncomplicated format. Ming Zhu and Emperor Yingwu Huang made a solemn promise to each other and were officially recognised as a married couple.

Following the conclusion of the ceremony, a lavish and extravagant feast was held in order to commemorate and rejoice in the union of the newly married couple. Ming Zhu and Emperor Yingwu Huang were seated together at the main table, which was positioned at the centre of the room. They were accompanied by their respective families and a group of trusted advisors who were seated around them.

Ming Zhu made an attempt to engage in conversation with Emperor Yingwu Huang, but unfortunately, the emperor displayed a demeanour that was aloof and unapproachable.

"As I thought, I'm not the only one who don't want this wedding. I can read his face so bad right now that he wants to end it all," she thought and giggled a bit. She noticed how irritated he was He hardly engaged in conversation with her, and it appeared that his attention was primarily focused on his meal rather than on her.

Ming Zhu felt let down, but she made an effort not to interpret it as a reflection of herself. The woman was aware that Emperor Yingwu Huang possessed great power and was accustomed to having things go according to his desires.

After the lavish feast, Ming Zhu and Emperor Yingwu Huang proceeded to withdraw to their respective chambers for rest and relaxation. Ming Zhu was feeling anxious and apprehensive, yet she was also resolute and committed to making the most out of the circumstances.

After removing her clothes, she climbed into the comfort of her bed. Emperor Yingwu Huang had already laid to his bed and was peacefully sleeping.

Ming Zhu was unable to fall asleep for a significant amount of time. During this period, she focused on the sound of Emperor Yingwu Huang's breaths. Curiosity consumed her thoughts as she pondered about the unknown possibilities that lay ahead in her future. At present, she held the esteemed title of Empress in the realm of Haoxing Guo.

She had entered into a marital union with a highly influential Emperor. However, she found herself in a situation where she was the only person in an unfamiliar place, with unfamiliar faces all around her.

Ming Zhu shut her eyes and inhaled deeply, allowing the air to fill her lungs.

"Damn, what am I doing with my life. I still have exams to go, and now I'm stuck in somebody's body, which I don't know of. Ridiculous."

Despite being aware of the vast amount of knowledge she lacked, she possessed an ability to become a capable and admirable Empress.

The way she would govern is by displaying kindness and understanding, as well as making wise decisions.

Her ultimate goal is to guide her people towards a more promising and optimistic future.

She thought that if she do the necessary things as an Empress, she'll be back to her real world.
