into the light 3

once doctor Jo took the elevator he dialed a number.

" tail the girl tomorrow be careful to not be exposed or she might really run away ,..., don't worry you'll get double the pay as i said "

the next morning for the first time in ages, Reya woke up one minute before her phone's alarm ringed with dark circles under her eyes it was sure she didn't get enough sleep this is if she slept to began with as the night before she opened her eyes every few minutes. she'd imagine shadows moving beside her, of course she was only imagining things because of how dark the place was.

" huh ... i must take a picture of this happy occasion " even though Reya's smile was overtaken by the tiredness she unhurriedly took a selfie of her fatigued face before sending it with a long message she typed to the group chat them sisters have.

< girls how do i look ? stunning right ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)? haha the day you all were waiting for has finally come now you are able to witness the moment i woke up before any of you did say after me Reya's the QUEEN>

< I almost forgot tell mother i'll be home this morning, adiós >

although she felt tired she was kind of happy

" imma go home now mother might be worriedly sick about me.."

after tidying her clothes and hair Reya throw the surrounding a short look, the apartment wasn't scary as she thought yesterday night there's even kids toys scattered around ' huh guess i was overthinking last night ' not wasting time anymore Reya hurried back home.

_____

standing in front of the house Reya searched her coat for the key it'd be a disaster if her father was the one to open the door once she ring the bell.

' luckily i have it with me hehe '

opening the door Reya's first reaction was sneaking to the kitchen as she was hungry, taking some bread and ham she ate to her fullest

" burp, it's as if I didn't eat for years.. " Reya was hesitant to tell her mother what happened yet thinking about the threatening words doctor Jo said she decided to lie. Once she turned around Reya's eyes shook a bit, she almost choked on her food which made her cough so much.

' sh*t what a luck ' thinking to herself Reya greeted her father " cough .. hello dad, how have you been? did you sleep tight with me spending the night in the streets!? " Reya wasn't going to say this but her mouth was faster than her brain ' damnit here we go again ' sigh.

" huh how can i not sleep tight when i finally got ride of a fat rat, humph ... why are you here in the morning.. hoo you seems to be hungry enough to eat sneakily here tsk you think this is a restaurant or what " with how solemn his face looked Reya didn't even have the strength to talk back

" where's mother ? i come to see her not an old RAT " smirking Reya didn't care anymore she already experienced being homeless once what can't she experience next!!

" you ... " being insulted by the same word you threw at someone's face might make a healthy man throw blood for hours.

" oh my .. Reya where did you sleep last night don't tell me in the streets.. oh my.. the world isn't a safe place like you think .. my poor daughter " the mother was really worried as her tears comes out.

" that.. don't worry mother i spent the night at my friend's house, her parents were REALLY really nice to me they even helped me find a job, you see hehe .." lying wasn't her thing as she barley lied yet her circumstances don't allow her to say the truth

' forgive me god just this time i'll make sure there's no next time '

" really ... who is that friend is she Sabrina ? " as a mother she'll not be at ease without making sure everything fine with her daughter.

" .. no no it's not her .. do you remember the girl I talked to you about ! that one ... that ... anyway do you remember her.. the one with glasses..?!" Reya knows her mother well just play dumb in front of her she'll believe you.

" you mean Hari that classmate of yours?!"

" ah haha that one! .. Hari! i met her yesterday and she suggested to spend the night with her, once her father come he even introduced a job to us today we will go there so i've come to get my things heheh... it's just i'll be working in the south not here" Reya's small lie turned to a big lie unintentionally, she doesn't mind lying more for the sake of making her mother not to worry.

' who f**ing knows a Hari, i almost forgot about her if not mother bringing it out today , and God please forgive me I'm doing this for their safety only... for my safety too..'

" humph you didn't find it in your birth city how could you find it in a far away place " Mr Noah who was drinking his coffee couldn't stop making a remark again.

" i wonder did you give birth to us only to treat us like outsiders once we grew up ! or just so we could earn money for you ?! unlike other people's parents you only belittle us no matter what we do .. no matter what we achieve ... no matter how much i tried ... you never did even the simplest thing a father could do to his kids that is:

_" good job dear "

_" I'm proud of my kids they always work hard "

_" my daughters brought me happiness."

do you understand now what you never did but other parents did !? it was the WORDS, the encouragement words ... just one positive word could make a kid fly from happiness yet the only thing we heard from you was negativity.. i personally tried so hard to be recognised..but now i'm really tired of everything.. i just want to forget everything and ... hic... i gave up many things just because you said our financial situation was bad .. i didn't ask you to buy me clothes each occasion just because you'll say you got so much debts and no money to spare.. from when I was young you were always giving excuses, do you think I forgot? heh no I never did even the time you happily gave your nephew pocket money yet when it come to us your money strangely turn into debts haha..."

for the first time in her life Reya was able to tell her father part of what's she tried so hard to ignore for years, her quavering voice accompanied by her heavy breath made her mother tear more.

forcing the tears back she added " we will do our best father. just pray that God will forgive you because i'm not sure if i could be good enough to forgive you at the moment ... "
