Jax alighted from the car after Maya. While the girl walked forward to leave, Jax grabbed her hand and stopped her.

"Thank you for having Serena's back," he let out gratefully. Maya blinked.

One day, she saw so many sides of Jax, that she didn't know existed. She realized that what the world thought of the man was different from who he was.

He was vulnerable, caring, responsible, and most importantly human.

She flashed him a friendly smile in response. "Have a good night, nymph," he said and ruffled her hair before turning around.

There was a question that bugged Maya. One that she needed to get out of her chest to make sense of everything.

"Maybe you can repay me for that," she uttered.

Catching Jax's attention and forcing the man to turn around and stare at her.

"Do you take cash, cheque, or credit card?" He asked with displeasure noticeable in his voice.
