Serena knew the truth in her heart. Damian was her fire, whether she liked to admit it or not.

She spent the day with Jax, while her mind kept going back to her husband. He was behaving so strangely that it barely made any sense to her.

Her mind ran back several times trying to fix what could have happened in the few hours that they were apart. Nothing was coming, she couldnt think of anything that could have made him change his behaviors towards her.

The ice cream in her hand was melting. Her mind was too focused on her problems to care about them. She tried to calm her heart. To have the strength to call Damian and ask him what the problem was.

But her mind refused to entertain the idea. There was a possibility that Damian won't pick up the call. And if he does then he might be rude to her.

Her heart had been broken enough for one day. Any more shocks would put her on the ground.

"Are you listening to me, Snow?" Jax inquired from her.
