Maya walked into the party. Her stomach knotted, she was feeling out of place.  Nevertheless, the nerves on her body were out of control.

She was not only out of her territory but out of her depth as well. High-class parties weren't her forte. She stood out like a sore thumb.

Standing in the middle of the room, she glanced around the room. Her eyes searched for Serena in the crowd, the girl was the only person she knew at the party.

As she stood there, she caught the attention of many at the party. One of the eyes that caught sight of her was none other than Mia.

Seeing Maya reminded her of all the insults that she had to endure at school because of the girl. Like Serena, she hadn't stepped foot in school since the first day of school.

She walked over to a group of boys she was acquainted with and whispered something in one of the boy's ears. She pointed her hand to Maya to the boy and strolled away.
