More than you let on (3)

Nathaniel woke up in the middle of the night.

The hairs of his skin stood straight. His demon senses warned him that something wasn't right. He reached out and took out his sword from his luggage.

The moment he touched the sword, it glowed with a blue flame. Ready and armed, he dashed out of his room to track down the source of evil he felt in the air.

He was a protector.

His first instincts were to ensure that Lana was safe. His sister was his first priority.

Walking down the silent hallways, fear ran its hands down his spine. Whatever was inside the mansion was dangerous and powerful.

The essence he got in the air, was stronger than anything that he had ever felt. It was almost drowning to get closer to the creature. However Nathaniel pressed on.

He marched to the first floor and searched all the room that were open for an intruder. His efforts proving futile.
