Chapter 49
The moment we got home, Mrs Hail helped mother settled in, while I went out with the driver to get some items for the kitchen and clothes for mother. Leaving her alone with Mrs Hail, I knew she was safe.
For the first time in a week since I arrived here, I could take a breather. Constantly sitting by her bedside without so much as a night of sleep, although I couldn"t help but ponder about the doctor"s words, and with the way I had seen her earlier, something definitely going to happen.
Then my phone rang. I picked it up. "Hello?"
"Grace?" A familiar voice called out
"Yes? Mrs Hail?"
"Oh, thank goodness, you change your number. Why? If I didn"t pick up your mother's phone, I wouldn"t have seen it. I"ve been trying the other one, but it wasn"t going through. Honestly, I thought you bailed on us."
"What? That"s absurd. Anyway, why are you calling? What happened?"
