Trial Begins

The trial was conducted and Apta became the suspect on charges of Interfering and Aiding Human Life and Perverting Fate. In a very large courtroom, which you won't even be able to see how wide the room is, which is attended by hundreds of gods, Apta just sits with his neck and hands handcuffed by a magic circle right in the middle of them.

"Lord of Case, I have already expressed what I saw with my own eyes. Lord Apta, whose position as a god in heaven, has intervened and helped the humans in that world. On Earth, he has saved a little girl, and has also revived the little girl from her destiny," Janu spoke loudly, witnessed by hundreds of gods and the great prosecutor.

"He said that," Apta said in his mind. "Well, after all, he's too obedient to the rules. So, he was the one who reported this."

Since the thirty seconds had ended, the seconds that Apta expected, because the little girl suddenly said something when Apta wanted to leave, Apta already knew that this would happen. He knew that Janu would do this to him. After all, the clones made by Apta were only temporary, and even they couldn't speak. So, with that, a suspicion of it will arise in Janu's mind, thus making Janu have to check what happened. Therefore, Janu returned to the room and saw what Apta was doing in that world, Earth, then he quickly reported the matter to the gods, and made Apta a suspect for his violation of long-standing rules.

It does not need to be estimated but only requires knowledge from attitude. What Apta does is read Janu's attitude towards the existing rules and when he has run out of time to be there. Even gods must also know the attitudes of their subordinates even though they have different degrees. Apta had known that and had taken the risk for himself against the report made by his subordinate.

"And the evidence..."

The evidence is Janu's skill, which is shared by all of Apta's underlings. Janu was able to see a replay of what Apta did because he had seen it directly from the room. He told it to the attorney general as evidence of Apta's actions.

"It was so obvious he saved her."

"Yeah. He even gave his power to let the human life."

The gods saw that and gave their comments. The evidence shown by Janu is very strong that Apta has saved the little girl by using his powers.

"Goddess of Fate..."

"Well, I already reported to the attorney general. The girl was destined to die there, but the God of Void saved her. He has fought the destiny that I have arranged in the best possible way for all living beings in the world. What awaits him in front there, he must accept. He has been at fault for breaking the rules between the gods."

After saying that, the Goddess of Fate turned her neck to the side, right at the God of War.

"Then, how about you? Didn't his subordinates report that the God of Void had taken one of your swords?"

"I deny that."

"You mean?"

"Since thousands of years ago, the sword has never been used. That is his sword. He just put it in my place, looking like it was mine. He left the sword to me and said, please keep this sword in your place. I don't want people to know that I have a sword."

"Oh, I see. I just found out, that he has a sword and can use it."

"Yeah, he is indeed a mysterious god. Whatever he does, he is always secretive and doesn't want any other gods to know about his affairs."

What they were talking about was about Apta being always closed off to other gods. They talked about the sword which was Apta's sword, which even the other gods thought that it was the sword of the God of War.

"Oh, that's right. There is one thing he once asked me," the Goddess of Fate said.

"What's that?"

"Two hundred years ago, he had asked me. The question is that, until now, I didn't understand the reason why he asked that at all."

"What did he ask?"

"Do I have a destiny?" The Goddess of Fate was silent for a moment and stared at the stars. "He just asked me that. This is so weird, why did he ask me that even though he is a god?"

The gods do not have a destiny like the living beings. They live by the rules that are in heaven and take care of the entire temporary realm. If one of them retires, quits, or leaves the position of "god", then his subordinates will replace that position and take over his power. And if they are gone, then the position will be replaced using an election that will be done by the gods. But meanwhile, Apta has existed since the entire universe existed, and he has no intention of ceasing to be a god either.

"…Why did he ask that?"

"I do not know."

As the Goddess of Fate, Luo Yi couldn't even regulate the destiny of other gods. She can only manage the destiny of living beings in that world. What Apta asked her was something she didn't understand.

"Then… what did you answer?"

"I didn't answer that question. He looked at me in confusion, then just walked away and thanked me, as if he had found the answer. I don't understand, I didn't answer the question, but he thanked me instead. He is a mysterious god. He truly is a god worthy of the void."

No one understands what Apta is doing. Even if it was his close friend, one would not understand him. He is too mysterious for anyone to understand. And even for now, even though the great prosecutor didn't check Apta's powers, the gods didn't even realize what Apta had done there. They only knew that Apta killed the demons and saved the little girl.

"According to rules 153 and 67..."

The evidence has been clearly shown, what Apta did there and what Apta gave the little girl, and the fate of the little girl that Apta had changed. Apta has broken two rules in the name of Heaven, then he will receive the punishment according to what he did. But before the great prosecutor convicts Apta, Apta has something to say:

"May I speak for a moment? Sorry for my impudence, but you haven't let me speak at all, God of Case."

"Okay, you can talk now!"

"I know that I am a god. I know that your rank is higher than humans. Also, I know that the rules have been around since I was here and I agree with that too. But, why shouldn't I act when something dangerous is right in front of my eyes? Even if it's for humans, I should be allowed to act, right? You know, if that was left to chance, the world would be destroyed by the demons summoned by them. And you know what, as the god in charge of the demons expelling from my world, I should have done the right thing. Isn't prevention better than cure?"

"But you helped humans, didn't you? You saved that human even though you killed those demons."

"Yeah, that's right, it was me who was at fault for going against that little girl's destiny. But shouldn't I be right too? While you are busy with your duties in Heaven and Hell, you do not pay attention to the other world which is in trouble. Aren't we there to take care of the entire universe for the time being, not just being in Heaven and Hell? Why do we exist when the other world is destroyed because we don't pay attention to it? Why are we there if we can't handle it? And what are we here for if we don't act right?"

"That's..." The great prosecutor was silent for a moment, thinking about Apta's words, which are also true. But suddenly...

"Even so, the rules are still the rules. Are you trying to deny that?" Janu said loudly.

"Ah, he's like that again," Apta said in his mind before he finally spoke. "Yeah, I did violate them. I was the one at fault, after all."

"If you know that, why are you asking that again? Your mistake is too heavy for-"

"Please be quiet!" The great prosecutor must stop the debate between Apta and Janu. He concluded in the end. "For what the God of Void did, which violated rules 153 and 67, the God of Void, Apta, was sentenced to…"

"In the end, they didn't listen to what I said. They seemed to close their ears and eyes. They exist only for regulations," Apta said in his mind before he finally got the punishment from the great prosecutor.

"Your status as the God of Void will be revoked, and you will be expelled from Heaven for interfering and aiding humans. Apta... goodbye!"

The hammer was knocked 3 times, indicating that Apta's punishment had been agreed upon. And white light appeared all over Apta's body.
