Burden

Isla and Aaric picked up there small luggage 🧳. Which included nothing but 3 clothes each. They went out of alley and headed towards city centre. Isla didn't leave Aarics hand. She was over whelmed with emotions.

Its been two days she's been having nightmares, dreaming about past life. But today she had a severe headache as she was in deep slumber. Her body was burning and she couldn't make a sound. She tried to wake up but all efforts were in vain.Slowly heat dissipate with the pain, Her eyes shot open when she heard muffled sobs and her mind became clear. But she had extra memories, Memories of future. The events were different. They were same as her dream and she knew was reborn.

Isla saw Aaric sobbing, she immediately went towards him. She didn't saw him like this in both lives. He was always the strong one. He protected her, fulfilled her need. Isla felt as her heart was about break. Her strong brother was broken she knew, he always felt as its was his responsibility to carry the burden. This time it will not be the case she will share his burden. Will lower the heavy responsibility he carry on his shoulders.

Isla squeezed Aarics hand probably reassuring both them that this time they will good life. Not begging on streets, not be beaten or been cursed by society. But to have a start they have to spread their hands in front of someone, have to humiliated. Isla and Aaric never felt inferior to anybody but now Isla didn't want Aaric to beg anybody.

Isla and Aaric walked for almost half an hour, then both sat on pavement to rest. All energy was drained. On opposite side was city Mall. Cars were passing by as time ticked both looked ahead. Mall was not open yet as it was early morning.

Gazing in front Isla said.

Brother many children would go there families right. They should be very happy spending time with their families. Envy and longing could be seen in her eyes. Her eyes were misty.

Yeah probably answered Aaric with same look in his eyes.

I don't know who were are parents, why didn't they want us she questioned again.

Aaric was quite this time he had same questions in his mind. Both long for familial love. Probably a small part hate their biological parents but they want to go back to their parents. Pampered and loved.

Lets go see if there is food in trash said Aaric and he stood up. They didn't have extra energy. Both were hungry. Aaric thought that there is chance that people throw food in malls trash.

Carefully they crossed the road and immediately went to trash area to search for food.

Isla and Aaric both drank alot of water, as they didn't have anything to eat. First 3 days they roamed to find a suitable place for shelter. The city is well developed as its the capital of the country 5 Major elite families reside in the city, who helped in infrastructure and other things. The children who live on streets are mostly send to child protection Organization. But Isla and Aaric didn't wanted to go there in previous life as they heard the Organization is corrupt and abuse children. They have already experienced so much trauma.

While searching Aaric felt dizzy. He couldn't stand straight. Its been days he slept. He was worried about Isla. Extremely tired and hungry he walked for half an hour. He sat down holding his head.

Brother look I found something lets eat it Isla said excitedly. There was packet of chip almost finished. When she turned around she saw Aaric sitting. Isla immediately ran towards him.

Brother what happened, eat this i will see if i can some water said Isla. She shoved all chips in his mouth. And then started to look around to see id there was water cooler.

5 minutes after when she returned she saw the sight in front gave her shock and fright. Panicked Isla when towards Aaric who now laying flat on ground with eyes closed.

He shook him and called him out but no avail.

Brother wake up.

Brother!

Brother please wake.

Isla cryed while trying to wake him up. Cursing herself she immediately shot up and ran to ask help from passerby but looking at her appearance they gave her disgusted expression and ignored her. It was 5: 30 in morning so there were not many people.

Isla saw a row of cars coming so on impulse she stood in middle of road. A motorcade was coming in speed, the driver immediately stepped on break but still the car stopped just few inches away. Isla face was pale she was shivering from fear.

A body guard came towards her he wanted rebuke her but Isla hurriedly said to him. My brother he will die please help him,He is lying there she pointed towards the area where Aaric was and thud she fainted.
