What Means Being a Villain

I once read it somewhere — probably in a book in some library — a certain thing that caught my interest during several periods of my troubled life.

Heroes & Villains. Different forces destined to constantly face each other, so that the progression of a certain story could occur.

Good and bad; Bad and good. Ideals conceived by people since the beginning of the life of the species that inhabit our world.

And, to be honest, I've never understood them properly, as they're so weird to understand. When I finally settled on the idea that I should research enough to understand them correctly, it was already too late, but honestly, I don't regret having gone to find out for myself.

It's just a silly idea. Worthless, and self-destructing more and more as the seconds pass. In short, it is something that utterly depends on the world vision and perspective of the person on each side.

That is, if these sides really do exist, in the first place.

You can't attribute your values to others, at least I used to believe that a long time ago. Before everything that happened to us. Before all that shit got thrown on the fan by those lunatics, who called themselves prophets.

Anyway, back to the main point, let's get straight to what I intended to tell you from the beginning: ''What's being a villain, anyway?''

I've lived with that stigma my whole life, and I have to admit, it was pleasurable. At certain times in my life, when I was still young, I wondered if I should really go down this crazy and crooked path…

But guess what: I was made for this. In the literal sense of the phrase.

Don't ask me why, that's a topic for another time. I don't even know if I have enough time to tell you everything I had expectations to talk about.

Well, I'm digressing, once again. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to come and log my stuff when I'm close to death's absolute door, right?

Screw that.

...

Villain.

A villain. Yeah, that's what I am. And what I will be for eternity, I don't care.

I killed thousands. Millions. Tens or even hundreds of millions, it is impossible to estimate after so much time has passed.

But being a villain is more than just the antithesis of good. It is an idea that humans, elves, dwarves, and many other species; in short, everyone has it from birth — in which good and evil are opposites of each other.

That is actually wrong. And I can prove it to you with simple words, check it out.

As said in that opening part of the book that I liked so much when I was young, although I don't remember the name any more:

''A real villain doesn't necessarily have to be a bad person.

He needs to be charismatic, smart, wise, and always one step ahead of the rest.

Such things are necessary for it to gain allies as well as to obtain strength that transcends the values and limits known to ordinary people.

To also make a hero emerge from the rubble and smoke of society. So that in the end, his goal has some real value.

So it will be a real villain.

Said and done, without any flaws, apart from its own mistakes, of course.

Therefore…

Even if he is weak at the beginning of his life, or from his path…

He will still be able to rise up and fight those he considers inferior and unworthy of life.

And in the end, he will only have the patience to wait and laugh at the death of others, watching the hero dive into a sea of his own blood.

That is indeed a…

December 24, 12:58 pm.

If I remember well, that was it, huh?

It was on that date that, finally, our intertwined destinies clashed for the last time.

And from then on, nothing would be the same, for eternity.
