Daisy wanted the Aldcrest fiefdom and since Jake didn't give it up, she had to turn to Peter but first she had to get rid of Jake. That's when the greedy royal family orchestrated a plan to remove Jake from the position of Lord of the Aldcrest fiefdom. The plan was initially to accuse Jake of being a vampire to prevent him from going to trial without being able to defend himself, relying only on his loyal men and his brother Peter to defend him. Peter was already in plot with the royal family. All that was left to do was eliminate Jake's men.
