Archer forced those wild thoughts out of his head and stepped towards her.

The bedside lamps seemed to be casting a warm glow on her and he could see her exhausted face. His butler informed him that in the past week, she barely stepped out of her room and she mostly skipped her meals.

Archer traced the faint dark circles under her eyes. Elvina did not care a bit about him hence his presence or absence would not matter to her. It concluded that he was not the reason that she was reduced to this state.

Of course, a woman who loved her beauty would not get dark circles just because he refused to sleep with her and stayed out of her sight.

Archer's gaze shifted to Gold who was sleeping on the small bed. The little thing had a fever. Two days ago, he sent some decent meds and asked the butler to call a doctor discreetly, without letting Elvina know that he was the one who did it.
