There was a flash of pain in Lily's eyes as she looked at the man she once loved. Maybe, she still loved him.

Maybe, even after being destroyed by him emotionally and mentally, her heart still wavered at the sight of him. He was not the culprit in the upheaval of her emotions. He did not do anything but she gave him this power over her.

If he sent a single smile in her way, then she would be daydreaming about it for a week and one of his frowns was capable enough to make her sad.

Maven noticed the way she looked at him. Maybe, he was hurting her with his words.
