SOMEONE TAKING CARE OF HER

Stefan recognized the wine that was served to Hazel. It was Château Lafite, a red wine, and could be said to be one of the most expensive wines.

The cost of the dish and wine that was served to Hazel alone had already exceeded their whole meal, as those two items were more expensive than this luncheon.

How could she afford that?

And it seemed not only Stefan, who realized the price of the food and drinks served to Hazel, but Greg as well. His eyes bulged out of their sockets when the server was about to open the bottle of wine for her.

"Who told you to order that?! I am not going to pay for that!" Greg stood up from his seat. He would be screwed if he had to pay the bill for Hazel's meal.

However, the young server talked to him calmly. She seemed to be in control of the situation well.

"You don't need to worry, sir, the bill for her order has already been settled." The server took out a small note from her pocket. "And the gentleman who had ordered this for you has asked me to read this note for you, Miss Hazel." She then proceeded to read the note. "Enjoy your meal, my love."

My love???

Waves of shock rippled across the table, as their shocked expressions turned very comical. Especially Grandma Elma, she looked like she just received a call that told her she was going to catch up with grandpa.

Meanwhile, Hazel beamed happily. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever creature this man was, she would accept him with open arms, because he had made her day so bright.

Hazel had never felt very important and being able to shut these people down twice in a row was an occasion that had never happened before either. What a great feeling and experience to see them eye her with jealousy and not the other way around.

"No, don't open it," Hazel said, when the server was about to open the wine bottle. "I am still underage and it is still noon, I don't think I need it."

There were disappointed expressions across the table when Hazel said that, but she could care less about that.

"In that case, we will keep it for you until you finish your meal. We will put it in a box."

"Yeah, please do." Hazel smiled at her.

"Hazel, who is that man?" Gaia asked, her expression was so bright, but her eyes were so sharp when she looked at Hazel. "Is this your new boyfriend?"

Hazel frowned at that, but before she could say anything, Gaia had jumped to some stupid conclusions of hers.

"Oh, don't tell me that you are…" Gaia didn't continue with her words, but of course she was indicating something. "You can't do that, you will only tarnish our family name if you are doing something like that…"

"Something like what?" Hazel frowned. She knew this conversation would lead into something, but she didn't have any idea what it could be.

"There are a few young girls like you who have someone, taking care of them…" Gaia then lowered her voice, as if she was afraid to say it out loud, yet it was still loud enough for them all to hear. "Someone older…"

Hazel wanted to laugh out loud when she heard this accusation, how absurd it was, but it seemed the feeling was not mutual with the rest of them.

"HAZEL!" Greg slammed his fist against the table hard, making all the people jump in fear. "COME WITH ME!"

Greg walked out of the room maneuvering long strides. He needed to have a good talk with this girl.

"Can you make it takeaway, please? And don't let them touch my meal, especially the wine." Hazel glared at her cousin, who had been eyeing her wine, before she followed Greg outside.

They had been petty toward her for her entire life, so she wouldn't let go of a chance to make it even with them.

Her cousin glared at her, but Hazel just went out of the room without any concerns.

"You shouldn't make a speculation like that," Stefan reprimanded Gaia lightly.

"I didn't make speculations, but Hazel didn't deny it, right?"

Stefan frowned when he heard that. As far as he knew, Hazel was not someone like that, but he could be wrong about her.

"Is it true? What Gaia said?!" Greg found a quiet corner to castigate Hazel. His eyes were blazing with anger, as if he had just found Hazel selling herself online and tarnishing their family name severely.

"No." Hazel tried to look calm, but her palms were sweaty. She lifted her chin to meet Greg's eyes. She didn't want to look like a little kid, who was being scolded.

"Then why did she say something like that?!"

Hazel scoffed. Why would she be blamed for Gaia's gibberish? "It was Gaia, who spoke nonsense, why don't you ask her instead?!" she snapped back at him and before she knew it, a harsh slap landed on her cheek.

Hazel felt the world spin around her and her head felt so dizzy, while the pain registered late in her mind, as she was in shock.

"How dare you talk back to me!" Greg lost his temper, while he watched Hazel wipe her mouth and saw blood on the back of her hand. He was surprised to see how harsh he was. "No wonder you are like this, knowing your mother, who sleeps around." He hissed out his last statement. "I want you to get out of that house."

"Okay," Hazel replied calmly, despite how bad the pain on her lips when she spoke.

"Don't you dare to step in my house, or my family's properties again!"

"Okay."

"You are not my child, so don't act like one."

"No. I never acted like your child, because you never acted like a father to me either." Hazel raised her head, while blood was visible on the corner of her lips.
