It hurt like hell when Alpha Micah realized that he had to let go of the love of his life, because he was waiting for the impossible to happen. 

Hazel has died and even though his mind told him to let go, his heart told him to hold on. 

How is he supposed to forget all the memories that they created together? How is he supposed to forget all of that? How is he supposed to forget about her…?

Micah knew that this would happen and because she couldn't mask her thoughts, she couldn't really hide it.

But then, it was hard to mask it when you were in heat. Your body would naturally smell sweeter and more desirable.

This was why Micah told all the shifters to leave the building, because some of them still had not found their mates and the temptation would be too much for them. After all, this was their instinct and the warriors tended to use their instinct in everything.

There would be a mess if they were nearby, since Micah wouldn't even let them lay a single glance on his mate, who was in heat, let alone catch her scent.

His beast would go rampant if something like that were to happen and the outcome would be mortifying.

"Let me help you," Micah whispered into Hazel's ear, which made her gasp. "Let me help you, okay?"
