Zane looked surprised, visibly scared because of her order as he tried to remember if he had done something wrong, but this was the first time they met with each other, thus he didn't know in what way he had offended her. "Did I offend you, my lady?" he asked carefully. He didn't even dare to meet Hazel in the eyes, as he kept glancing at Gallahan and Noah. They were his seniors after all.

However, none of them knew why Hazel suddenly took interest in this young guard.

"No, don't worry, you didn't offend me." Hazel shook her head and offered him a soft smile to reassure him. "I just need you to come with me."

"Where to, my lady?" Zane was still reluctant to follow her. Probably, this was because of Hazel's status in this palace, so he could ask her, because if she had been introduced formally as the king's mate, Zane wouldn't even dare to ask about this.
