Hey, Lizzy. Are you there? Can I ask a question?
What's up? I currently do not have too much work. Fire away your question
C-Can I bring someone with me?
Yes and no.
What do you mean by that?
You can bring another person with you, but they cannot be tied into the world.
What?
Hmmmm, how should I say this… Each person in the world has a string that attaches them to the world. The woman you want to bring with you has a bigger and stronger string attached to the world, and you cannot bring her with you.
I see. She needs to do something before her string snaps, right?
The string will not snap even though they are still attached to her, but it becomes thin and weak. I can work with that.
I see. I can bring her with me when she is done with whatever she needs to do.
Yup. When she is done, you can take her with you. Also, after this mission, that did not mean you could not see her, you know? I still need you in this world, you know?
This is not the last mission in this world?
No. This is only to stabilize something. Sun Rune will not explode and destroy the continent, but there are still stupid people who try to tickle the dragon and make the rune explode once again if they keep tickling it.
Ah, that kind of problem. Before, the problem was the Sun Rune itself that almost went into a frenzy, right? And now the problem comes from the humans that keep provoking the rune.
That's right. With you taking over the Rune, the consciousness of the Rune is gone, and now it is only a weapon. It still has a little bit of sentience on it, but it cannot be attached to other people like Queen Arshtat.
Thank you, Lizzy.
No problem.
I release a sigh and smile a little. It looks like I did not really say goodbye to them. Damn. I already created a misunderstanding, huh? What am I? Momonga?
I shake my head and get down from my bed. With the royal companion going to the East Palace and then going to Lunas for a ritual before marriage, I was left alone in the massive palace. I'm bored.
I get out of my room, and the servant standing in front of my room quickly runs toward me. I look at her and smile at her.
"I'm sorry but I need to get out of the city."
"Ah, of course. I will inform the guard."
"I don't need them. I only want to go to Raftfleet to meet my teacher."
I also need to see if Jeane is still in the city or staying in the training cabin.
"B-But…"
"Let him be."
I look to the side and see Ferid walk toward me with a smirk on his face.
"Let him be. He can take care of himself."
"Thank you, Lord Commander."
"Bah, call me Ferid, Jacob. You will be my son-in-law soon."
"Ferid then. Thank you."
"Think nothing of it. I know how boring it was waiting for your future wife to finish her ritual. Anyway, just be back tomorrow before lunch. You also need to do a formality ritual with the other Queen's Guard."
"Will do."
I nod my head and walk out of the palace. I continue to walk through the long bridge and arrive in the city, where I quickly go west to the rune shop.
After walking for a few minutes, I arrived in front of the shop. I get inside the shop and see my teacher busy attaching a rune to someone's body. I can see she notices me and gives me a small smile. I nod my head and wait for her to finish at the corner of the room.
I waited for thirty minutes before she finished with the rune attachment. After the man left the shop, I walked toward her and said,
"That takes some time to complete."
"Fufufufu~ Not everybody has an affinity like you, Jacob~."
"Really? I guess that made sense. How are you, teach?"
"I'm doing fine~ Thank you for asking. The book you give me before you fight in the Sacred Games keeps me busy."
"Oh? Truly? Are you able to do the spell in the books?"
"No, but I can copy the effect of the spell~."
"Oh? Which one?"
She smiled at me and took out her staff before pointing it at the ceiling.
"Aguamenti"
A torrent of water appeared from her staff and hit the ceiling.
"Oh, Water-Making spell. That one is really useful."
"Yup~ It summons a drinkable water that lasts forever in the real world."
Oh, yeah. This world water spell cannot make drinkable water for some reason that can last forever.
"How? The mana in this world is not as stable as the one in the other world, right?"
"Yes. However, because of my race, I can make the mana in the air go through my body to make it more stable. I cannot cast a more powerful spell but a daily-spell is easy enough."
Did she just admit that she is not a human? Well, I already know about it. She cannot survive for a hundred years without something special about her. Either she has a True Rune on her body that makes her immortal, or she is not a human.
"Hmmm, how many spells do you learn from the book?"
"Around thirty spells but most of them are daily spells like cleaning spells and floating food spells."
"That is impressive. Do you want more books? I have more of them if you want."
"Gimme! Gimme!"
I chuckle a little at her antics and take out her second and third-year books. I gave her a book about charm and transfiguration.
"Oh~ Come to mama~"
I shake my head and get up from the chair to leave her alone with the books.
"Ah, wait a minute, Jacob."
"Yes?"
"I will give you something."
I nod my head and wait for her for a few minutes. When she comes back, she has a stack of books with her. She places them on the table and says.
"These are the books I write myself about how to use your rune to a maximum level and a lot of spells you can learn when you reach a certain stage."
"Is this all for me?"
"Yup~ Take them."
I nod my head and put them all inside my inventory.
"Thank you, teacher. I will read them and train my magic study."
"Fufufufu~ Think nothing of it, Jacob~ Now~ I need sometimes alone with your gift."
I smile a little and shake my head. Her and her books. I get out of the shop and start to walk to the docks. It is time to go to the Raftfleet. I have another teacher to visit. Ah, I almost forgot to buy wine for her.
I hear there are delicious wines in this city. Are they selling in bulk? I wonder.
