Chapter 85

I arrive inside Gringgot and wait for my turn. A few seconds later, I arrived in front of a goblin teller.

"Good day, teller."

"What do you want, human?"

"I want to ask my vault manager about another business. This is my vault key."

The goblin in front of me takes the key and does something behind the desk. After a minute of waiting, the goblin nods and says.

"All is good. However, he informs me that you should wait for an hour or two. He is finishing your order."

"I see. Can you tell him that I want to make another order? This time a mundane book. I need a lot of books about medieval tech and how to make it. How a farm works and things like that. A book on how to uplift a territory."

The goblin weirdly looks at me and says.

"Magic."

"Without magic. I don't want to work. I want other people to do it for me."

"I see."

"I am even willing to put a quarter of a million of Galleons for these books."

The goblin looks at me for a few seconds and nods. He pressed something, and a second later, one of the goblins wearing armor walked to me.

"Follow him. He will take you to the transaction room."

I nod and follow the goblin to the backroom. I walk inside one of the rooms and see one goblin waiting for me. I sit in front of him and hear him saying,

"Pour the money into the box."

I shrug and pour a quarter of a million into the box. He looks at it briefly, taps the box several times, and I see the money is gone.

"What do you want?"

"Books. Mundane books that let me uplift a medieval times territory."

He looks at me weirdly and nods.

"Very well. Easy enough. Do you want it purely muggle or have some magic in it?"

"Hmmm… Combination of both would be good."

"Very well. Do you want me to use all of the money for the books or do you want to receive it clean? No more fee for the service and the like."

"Clean."

"Good. Do you want me to combine it with the rest of your order?"

"If you can. I am even willing to pay extra if you can do it by tomorrow morning or get more payment if you do it by the time my previous order is done."

"Gringott has many agents, but two hours is not long enough. Give an extra two thousand five hundred Galleons, and your order will be done this evening."

"When?"

"Seven or eight in the evening."

"Deal."

I pour another three thousand into the box and say.

"Another five hundred if you can tell me some place where I can train or spar."

"What kind of spar?"

"Physical kind of spar. Sword, or hand-to-hand combat."

I can see him smirk and hear him say.

"Then, do you want to join a tournament?"

"What kind of tournament?"

"We, goblins, have a weekly tournament that will happen today at noon. It is a full physical fight, no magic allowed. You can use close combat weapons like spears, swords, or daggers. How about it? Are you interested? I can sign you up. The fight will start in three hours."

"Sign me up."

"Good. Don't run away when the time comes."

I ignored his words and walked away from the room. I'm hungry.

|3rd POV|

The news of a human joining the Weekly Goblin Tournament spread like wildfire in the summer. This is the first time they hear a human entering the Weekly Goblin Tournament. Two of the reporters decide to come and investigate the scene.

One of the Gryffindor Common Room projectors shows all the students the arena.

"This is the first time I hear of someone stupid enough to join that tournament."

One of the older students says while looking at the hologram in front of him.

"Really?" Hermione looks at him. "Why?"

"Because there is no way a human can win against a goblin in a physical fight. You might not know it, but they are a strong race. Not as strong as giants or cyclops, but they can crush a man's skull with their bare hands."

Hearing that piece of knowledge, Hermione looks at the hologram nervously. After watching her best friend get out of one, she did not want to watch another Death Match.

"Oh!" The reporter suddenly shouts. "Here is the challenger."

The orb camera moves and shows the world the face of a human brave enough to fight in the Goblin Tournament. To most people, he is not someone they do not know. However, one person knows who he is. That person is Harry Potter. He looks at the hologram near him, his eyes wide open, and his jaw drops.

"My name is Ernuff the Shining Sword! Master of Vraklar Sword Technique"

Jacob looks at his opponent and nods.

"My name is Jacob Shiff Evans, former Lord Commander of… never mind. Master of Falena River Dance!"

At that word, the reporter quickly lit up and said.

"Falena River Dance! That is the same sword technique our beloved Boy-Who-Lived uses to fight the dragon! Also, did he say that his family name is Evans? Does that mean he is also coming from the Evans Family? Maybe he is the brother to Lily Potter nee Evans?"

By this point, the people in Hogwarts watch the tournament without even blinking. Dumbledore is sitting inside his office, watching with a frown on his face. He did not know what was going on. The name that he thought was unimportant became something big and kept growing.

"Falena River Dance, aye? The same style that makes dragons kneel! I'm honored!"

After the goblin says that, the referee arrives in the middle of the arena.

"Are you both ready?!"

Jacob and Ernuff nod their heads.

"Fight!"

After he hears that, Jacob dashes forward. He arrives in front of the goblin, who is surprised at his speed. Jacob swings his sword and lands a clean hit. The sound of a blunt short sword can be heard by the other.

The goblin's body gets thrown into the wall, creating a crack from the impact. Ernuff shakes his head and looks up. He can see Jacob jumping around, creating some kind of dance. At that moment, he knew that this fight would be hard.

With a roar, he runs at his opponent. Jacob sees him coming and dodges to the left. After jumping to the left, he uses his right leg to throw him forward.

Ernuff quickly takes a defensive stance and is ready to block the incoming attack. However, before Jacob arrives in front of him, he uses his left leg to change direction. Ernuff widens his eyes at the sudden change of direction and pays for it.

Jacob swings his sword and gets another clean hit. After hitting the Ernuff four times, the goblin returns to his senses and slowly keeps up with Jacob. However, he notices something. Jacob is ready for him every time he tries to move, and he also notices that his every move is not a move he wants to make. Rather, his move is something he needs to do.

Seeing no other way out, he lets his body get hit and uses it to jump away from Jacob.

"You bastard."

Jacob smiles at him and says.

"What do you mean?"

"You are a puppeteer."

"Oh?"

"You are the one controlling my movement. Controlling how I attack, how I defend, and how I country. It is as if… I'm your partner in a dance. I see."

Jacob's smile gets bigger at his word.

"Partially correct."

"Oh?"

"I will not tell you more. Win this fight and I might tell you."

"Heh. Then prepare to lose!"

Ernuff dashes forward and swings his sword with all his strength. However, Jacob's strength is longer in the human realm. As he gets slightly serious in this fight, the people watching him fight immediately notice it.

The fight lasted three minutes until Ernuff fell to the ground, and Jacob put his sword around his neck.

"I win"

Ernuff releases a sigh and laughs loudly.

"Yeah. You win. Great fight."

"Thank you."

Jacob smiles and helps the goblin to stand up. After he helps the goblin to stand up, the spectator starts to shout and cheer for him.

"Win this tournament, boy. At least I get defeated by a champion."

"I will."
