"He sure does like to control the narrative. I hope he learns to stop."

"I know. And that's why it's hard to remain mad at him."

Mason remained in Jason's house all day. They both spent time together watching football, eating pizza and drinking beer.

"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?" Jason asked Mason later that evening as he prepared to leave to go and meet Brad, his father.

"Nah, I'm good bro. Thanks." Mason gently tapped Jason on his shoulder.

"He will be proud to have a son like you," Jason said.

"Well I hope so, and if not well, that's his fucking problem."

"I went to see Jack at the hospital two days ago," Jason said.

"So I was told. Stan's men saw you."
