This Is Different

Mason was on the balcony of their bedroom one evening, working when Ava came back from her meeting with the wedding planner.

She and Mason's grandmother had met with the wedding planner to do a last-minute change to the centrepieces. Apparently, Mason's grandmother thinks the ones that were earlier chosen were too cheap.

"You are home already," Ava said with a sigh as she walked into the balcony.

"And you are just getting back. God! You looked fagged out."

Ava released a breath, sighing. "That's because I am."

Mason took his laptop off his lap and placed it on the coffee table.

"Come here," he said with an outstretched arm and a voice so tender, Ava couldn't stop herself from smiling.

Ava leaned off the balcony railing and came to sit beside Mason. She placed her head on his chest, Mason wrapped his arm around her.

"Your day was that stressful huh?"

"You have no idea," Ava groaned.
