Don't Come Back

Layla crumpled on the floor and wept. She thought her mother's words used to hurt her but her father's words hurt even more. Every day she keeps telling herself that she wasn't going to allow her parents' words or attitude to get to her but every time they say hurtful words to her, she finds herself crying even harder than she did the last time.

Layla wept so much until she no longer had any strength left in her, she began to whimper and soon she fell asleep.

Some hours later She was awakened by the sound of someone banging heavily on her door.

"Go away," she mumbled as she curled herself into a ball on the cold floor she felt too weak to stand up from.

She could hear Jason as he called her name from outside the door but she didn't want to see him or anyone else for that matter. She wanted to be left alone.

"Layla!" Jason continued to bang on the door. Each bang was harder than the first.
