Food for Thought

As Teyo tossed around the gatcha ball, Wellyn looked at him and then snatched it in the air. Teyo looked over at him " Uh, hello?!"

" One thing you should know about this here, this is considered a drop. Notice how it's in physical form? Ya see this is trade good and top quality at that. I'm certain your looking for a leg up and I won't stop you, but it's random chance that it's anything useful to ya. Most folks can't help but enjoy the feeling of just opening these. And usually the price at which it can be sold, can buy ya something you actually want from a tier below, as well as a trade for something of the same tier. Imagine you opened a.. idk a Praise tier dress? Don't look like ya wear dresses, and now by all means the dress is pretty and heck ya may look good in it. Would'nt you love to still trade that dress for anything else? These balls in physical form are that anything." Wellyn then places it back in his hand.

Teyo looked on at the ball. He then emptied the contents of his bag. Placing everything he had on the table didn't amount to much but he decided he would at least spend the time to check everything. Rather than use the Gatcha ball Teyo sighed and placed it aside. What he had left was the goblin ears and the large slimes core, the sticks and the goblin stone and shoddy goblin stone dagger.

Teyo sighed the more he looked at it. He only seemed to grab trash. Outside of the Slime core nothing he had held real value. The bat wing bag he made didn't even come up with anything, it was also barely holding together. The beauty of it was that with the Discern Ingredients ability he had gathered things that had purpose, although their use was vague. Ironically he had gained another skill that seemed to work well with another but just like the norm, the information provided was still elusive. Nothing in Wish Legacy seemed clear cut. As much as he hated that he didn't know everything, it gave him fuel to find out more. He looked up at Wellyn.

" Hey so I'm curious, how many classes do you know of? Like how many are there?"

Wellyn raised his brow. " Well that's a loaded question. How many do I know of or how many are known of? It's safer to just think of the classes more as a door in a labyrinth, Where the walls are doors, You have the skeleton key, but the goal is your own. There is no center of the maze Nor entrance or exit. If you shackle yourself to the idea that classes are immutable, you will fail to evolve." Wellyn sipped his beverage and just looked into it's foam.

Teyo wasn't really all that philosophical, and the metaphor the now seemingly wise barkeep gave just hurt his head.

" How the fuck can there be two hundred levels of this shit..." Teyo thought as he rubbed his temples. " Okay let's come back to that, what I really want to know is how can I get a combat skill? I don't have any besides one which is technically to cook with, is there an easier way to get them?"

Wellyn stood up and grabbed the old book off the counter. He came back and placed it on the table and flipped through a small section in the beginning to the first section of pages Teyo could understand the language of where he simply turned the book around and placed his finger at the start. The beautiful calligraphy was an archaeic wisp in emboldened cursive, easily the best penship Teyo had ever seen.

~General Laws of the Landing~

The Law

No same two are the things

Nothing is as it seems, mainly

Plainly seeing is like dreams

Where you wake is Understanding

Landing

Know that which is free

You're free to row your boat out at sea

Stand alone and you shall sink

At the bottom, of your misunderstanding.

Teyo looked up at the barkeep. " Hey this is cute and all but. Where the like information section..? How do people know some stuff and others don't?"

Wellyn flipped the pages to another section.

Rules of the Doors

1. Doors can be of any size or shape. To the next level you they take.

2. Monsters and Beasts, are feasts like cake, for which you may be or can make.

3. Gem's are experience, but to be explained, each creature shall contain, not just one may two, at heart or brain.

4. Luck is Friend and Foe. Just depends which way you go.

5. The friends you make will neither hold you back, nor make you go, grow together, from gold to black or black to gold.

6. Logic is always sound, but when sound is logic, you're sure to frown.

7. Hands to hold will shape your mold, where molds needs like flowing stones.

8. Everything and Everyone, has use, To be useless or used, a satirical fun.

9. Wizards, Warriors, Rogues, and Pages, Lizards, Toads, Dopes and Phages. We will all have our phases.

10. The answer is 3. For You, Them, and Me.

Teyo's mind was nearly shattered. Without even saying anything he began to flip the pages of the book. He flipped and flipped and turned and stared nothing left in the book had any other sections he could read. He had a hard time trying to wrap his head around everything, and trying to all at once just left his mind to wander. What he did know was that very obviously he was already on the right track. " I have to earn it. Everything, the know how, and the know what. Perhaps in time things will begin to reveal themselves."

Wellyn interrupted Teyo who had been lost in thought for a few minutes. " That chest there, you can use it to store some things if you'd like. I would like to start off by saying thank you and I'm sorry. The journey your on is not an easy one but thank you for taking it. I have something for the people that take time to learn" Wellyn pulled out a small notebook and within it's root coil bound spine a wood stick of dark charcoal. He handed it to Teyo.

Teyo received the book and got a notification.

Congratulations on completing the tutorial! +100 Experience!

" Silk Notepad"

Wonderful Item

Description: A note pad made from silk snake skins. Getting it wet or burning will not destroy its contents.

Character Bound

Teyo's cheeks grew bright red flush with a mix of anger and embarrassment. Looking at this made him a bit upset, not that he gained much from this encounter but a plethora of riddles to ponder, but had he just decided to maybe talk with the barkeep before he would have gotten an entire level. The other sad bit was with this experience had he finished his taco he would have been level three. Now he has nothing to send him over that edge. He simply needed more ingredients. "Damnit Reilly's going to level from this won't she!" Thinking about it Teyo pulled up his menu and went to his friends list. It showed Reilly was online and in Wish Legacy. He then decided to send a message.

" Hey! I read the rule book. Have you finished yours yet?"

Teyo sat and waited for a reply. About a half hour and three slime sodas later he finally got a reply.

" Ohh Heyy!!! Sorry I was in the training room trying out my new spell! Did you know up there you have unlimited mana?? Also uh.. no I have read the rules yet. Did you really I thought it was gonna take all day?"

Teyo looked at the stair case leading upstairs. " Oh that's right, well no matter I can do that another time.. But hey she was supposed to read the rules was she going to skip out on it again and just wait for me to teach her?" Teyo frowned then he replied to her.

" Have you spoken to the bartender? Ask them about the rules, just trust me and talk to them for awhile. When your done reading the rules send me an update and I'll invite you."

" Bartender? Okay I'll do it right now! Also thank you.. For hiding my face Dungeon Chef ;)"

Teyo put his fingers over his eyes looking down. " Shit... well I guess I should have know this would happen. It did blow up. I've gotta make sure she doesn't tell anyone my user ID so I don't get bombarded with invites."

" Oh hahaha yeah I had to post it after I saw how cool it looked. I hope you don't mind, I did the best I could to hide our faces. Let's keep making content! Next time you're gonna beat three goblin's! Haha.. ha Anyway can you not share my I.D? Some people are kinda weird on the internet..."

Teyo didn't get a reply, he waited and waited but only after another half hour did he finally get an update.

" Hey I'm done with the tutorial! Thanks again! And no worries Teyo! Invite me I wanna show you something."

Teyo came out of his sulking attitude and immediately sent her an invite. A moment later Teyo heard a knocking at the front door, and then it cracked open. Reilly stood there, in her confusion to looked back and forth a few times.

"How come your Library looks like a Inn?" She said as she walked in and stood next to the table. " Hey are you cousins with Wendy? " She said speaking to Wellyn.

"*ahem* Wendy. ah yes, no she's my sister. Glad you've met. And you are ? "

Wellyn said as he cleaned out his and Teyo's mugs.

" Wellyn this is Reilly, or RainbowButterfly. She's my uh.. friend. We met in the first level." Teyo intruded to not lose our on the pleasantries. Reilly just bowed slightly and then sat down.

" It's so.. Homely in here I like it. My... Space is like a library with rows of book spiraling up into the tower that it's home to. Long latters and pullies get you around. But your space is so small and cute. You like my new staff?"

Reilly leaned forward and placed her staff on the table. It looked plain and simple like a garled branch that could double as a walking stick. Teyo ran his hands over it, it was wonderfully soft, someone had put great care in smoothing it. Curious Teyo asked her how she got a new one.

" Oh RMT obviously. I spent what for you I think is 20 dollars? and someone bought it for me with their gems and then sent it to my mailbox." Reilly smiled happily.

" What's RMT stand for? "

" Real money trading. Haha you sound like you've never played an MMO before. It's just a work around for items in game really. I actually looked into and pieced together the information that there is no bar against it for Wish Legacy. I think it's because you can't trade Gems apparently. I guess gems that you have can only be given to those that were in the level with you. Once you leave the level, or try to go another level with someone else, your gem's stay behind at your "space". The only other thing I looked into, cause of the ya know... Food.... is that for some reason crafted goods categorize differently and can be taken with you, but for someone else to use or take them from you they still have to pay the base value of that item. So Teyo that brings me to my next question. What do you think about opening up a shop?"
