Lara finally knew that she had messed up and dropped her knife. Regina still pinned her down. Her dagger close to the carotid artery in Lara's neck.
"I don't know." Lara said with a pale expression and scared voice.
"Is that so? Then you give me no choice but to-" Regina pulled her dagger back intending to attack with double speed but Lara said, "I know someone who might know Desmond. I can take you to that person." Lara almost scared to death but desperately wishing to live .
Regina looked closely in Lara's eyes, her dagger still in position to cut through. "You make good jokes, you know." Regina smirked.
Lara's eyes were still very well reflecting her disbelief. Questions clouding her mind and in the position that she was in, she knew she had no right to even ask the questions she wanted to.
"Lark." Regina said and Lara's listless eyes focused on the woman who was pinning her down.
"You are Lark, aren't you?" Regina asked Lara with a smirk. And this shocked Lara even more.
"No matter what, I have to attack this lady in front of me and complete my mission." Lara thought as she tried moving her dagger in desperation after picking it up.
She was a little bit successful in breaking Regina's stance and Regina wavered a little when Lara attacked her thigh bone. It was fortunate since it didn't cut through the skin and just the dress.
"You are skilled Lark. Just as they say." Regina had a smug smirk on her face. She was winning and she knew it.
Lara didn't say anything but her desperate attacks made it all so clear that she really wanted to wipe out this woman in front of her.
"I can't let her live. Or I will get killed." Lara constantly thought.
"Why not give up Lark? It will be fun to sit down and chat. Have a tea and a little ladies' chat." Regina suggested still stopping Lara furious attacks.
She might have gotten injured very soon, but she knew how Lark was trained in attack. And that was because she had her very first battle with Lark.
---------
Lark was a killer. Classified in killing corrupt nobles and aristocrats. She was lean and her attacks were always sharp.
Red hair and green eyes, it was really easy to identify her, except for one fact that - even though she would show her real face in the arena and to complete missions, she liked to change her attires and faces when it came to living a civil life.
Her name was indeed Lara De Gonstroght, and she did have an affair, but the fake part here is she was never thrown out by her family.
Since she never had one.
Her disguises and body language was carefully designed by her to get close to her targets before attacking them, and thus she was like a shadow moving in the crowds.
But the one things stood out about her and only the assassins she had a fight could notice it was that she had a dagger.
A Blue diamond dagger- the diamond was on the handle part and she loved to use it as a button to extend the dagger into a sword.
And a very few people knew this as the people who saw that dagger converting into the sword were definitely killed by Lara.
"You... I remember you Lark." Regina said with a warm smile. "I will defeat you just like that evening seven years ago." She said.
And suddenly Lara remembered, "You... you are..." her words were having a hard time coming out from her throat. She stopped her desperate attacks and stopped to look at Regina's face.
She was panting hard, and Regina wasn't. She had to have known this from the start. From the very start when she was pinned down on the couch to stop her attack.
It was the 'Clean Task complete move'. It was Urara. Lara was stunned to see Urara after such a long time.
And she tucked her dagger back in the belt.
"Huh? Gave up already?" Regina asked in a confused tone.
"Who would want to fight you..." Lara said in a dismissed tone. "Don't say you are scared... or are you?" Regina tried provoking Lara. But Lara calmly went and sat down on the chair.
No need to fight - Lara's expression were clear.
"You defeated me once, I can't take the same defeat twice." Lara said in a mature tone looking in Regina's eyes.
"I have already lost to you once Urara, so now I'm forever indebted to you. And there is more than one reason why I feel so." Lara said in a calm submissive tone.
"So you finally remembered me Lark." Regina said with a satisfied smile. "It's nice to meet you here Urara." Lara said returning the same warm smile.
"Tsk you are no fun Lark. You should've defeated me by now." Regina said as she went ahead and took her seat on the couch.
They both tucked the daggers away and looked at each other. "Who knew this palace was supposed to be the next place we were destined to meet." Lara said looking at the room they were seated in.
"But this still doesn't clear the fact that you are here." Lara said as she shifted her focus on Regina's face. "Why are you here Urara?" She asked, and this time with a worried tone.
Regina knew that she would somwday had to answer this question and so she thought might as well go along the flow -
"I fell in love. I fell in love with a man and he ran away. Until one day he came back and turned out he was the king of our kingdom." Regina said in a straight tone.
"Yeah?" Lara asked her sarcastically as it was clear that this story is the fakest story she had ever heard from someone.
"You need to improve your plot your majesty." Lara said with a sigh and as a sign of giving up.
She leaned back a little and said - "It's fine if you don't want to tell me. But remember there are lot of enemies you made before you even came here." Lara warned Regina.
