83: Keeping the promise - part 1

Consciousness came and went in intervals. Aurora's head did not stop spinning even after she tried her best. It made her wonder just what she had done to be dealt with such punishment.

"Are you awake now? How are you feeling?"

Rita's face snapped into focus as soon as Aurora woke up. Her mind tried to ignore the sudden on-slaughter of memories it was being dealt with.

"I feel a little weak but I'm alright now."

Aurora's body had almost no strength. She could also not feel her magic very clearly.

"That's because of magic exhaustion. You pushed yourself a little too hard yesterday."

Rita's words sounded sour. It was like she was angry about something and Aurora had a bad feeling about it.

"Rita, are you angry at me? You do know that I did what I had to? You understand me, right?"

"I know why you did what you did. But I refuse to understand your reasons. In the end, the tower was the one that benefitted from our mess. And no, I'm not angry at all."
