The Royals

Eva forced a smile as she nervously stuttered.

"Oh that? Well...my friends and I ditched class to visit our boyfriends in the next school" She looked down blushing.

The two girls looked at her.

"Wow. You have a boyfriend" Alen exclaimed with genuine interest.

Eva blushed again as if she could imagine him here staring down at her with those jade green eyes of his.

"I won't call it a girlfriend boyfriend thing. He's just a really good friend".

Alen smiled some more.

"That's what they all say and... they caught you guys?"

Eva nods with a small smile.

"I actually took the blame so I was the only student suspended. You should have seen my mum. She literally made my day cloudy...you know..by casting a gloomy cloud over my head to rain on me for the whole day".

Alen laughed at this

What she said finally caught Angel's attention.

She looked at Eva like she couldn't believe she could do something like that.

Taking the blame for something that wasn't totally her fault? And she was a princess?

She said nothing still.

Eva sort of noticed she wasn't the talking type.

"So Angel....."

"Emily" The fairy corrected her immediately.

Eva frowned.

She wanted to say something but she could feel Alen pinching her sides not to say anything.

She just kept quiet and followed the two. They entered the cafeteria which was crowded and really noisy.

Eva got to see a lot of vampires, fairies and Elves....

When they pass a table, all eyes would be on her.

It was almost as if they could recognize a witch when they see one.

That was because witches, had a slight green skin and dull colored hair unlike fairies and Elves.

Eva looked further down as she followed the only two people who she could depend on right now.

Alen and Emily..

Weird, hadn't Miss Terra called her Angel?

They find an empty bench and sit down.

Angel excused herself for a moment to order her food.

"What's up with her. I don't think she fancies the name Angel".

Alen bit her lip.

"Well that's because....the name was given to her by Miss Terra personally. She calls her Angel because Emily's the only fairy in school who can't fly"

Her eyes widened

"What?"

"Yeah..she doesn't like to talk about it so just call her Emily from now on...."

Eva decided not to press the matter further.

Alen excuses herself to go get her lunch while Eva sat there totally forgetting the food her mother packed for her was patiently waiting in the backpack before her.

She was busy looking around the cafeteria in awe, avoiding the gazes of several pairs of eyes.

She finally starts to look back at them.

These three species were not only different physically but had their own unique differences even in the cafeteria.

In the cafeteria section, Vampires mainly fed on fresh blood and meat...mostly blood...

Fairies enjoyed sweets like pie, cake, fresh honey, mallow pears, pixie fruit and others

Elves fed on mostly greens like crisp apples, snow berries, leafy green salads and many others.

There was no witch menu because...the school wasn't really expecting a witch here.

Eva finally remembered the food her mother had made for her.

Witches weren't really picky. Aside blood, they could eat almost everything fairies and Elves ate.

As she brought out her food, she could feel a hot gaze on her.

Sure more than 30 people were staring at her, this one was so obvious that she had to turn.

Davis turned away once Eva faced him but she was quick to see him avert his gaze.

As if knowing he was caught, Davis smirked ruefully, saying nothing.

Eva narrowed her gaze.

By keeping an eye on her did he really mean every single time.....

Or was he being creepy....

Alen came back to the bench almost the same time Emily did.

Alen had a tray of fresh fruits, crispy leaves and nuts.

Emily had a tray of cakes and sweets. Eva couldn't help but stare at it till Emily said.

"Do you want some"

Eva politely shook her head and looked back at her food.

It was guacamole made from fresh avocados and chips.

Once in a while her eyes would trace their way back to where Davis sat as if waiting for when he would turn back to look at her. But he never did.

Sometimes he would occasionally smirk because he could feel her gaze on him but she didn't notice that.

"..Too bad they can't let you stay there".

She heard Alen say.

"What?"

"Over there" Alen said pointing to where Davis sat. "That's where the royals sit. Davis, the crown prince of the Fairy Kingdom , Simone, the crown princess of the Vampire kingdom and her cousin Fiona. Arjun, the crown prince of Elves and his twin sister Arjana"

Eva finally realized that she had been looking at Davis all these time that she failed to notice the others. The bench the royals sat on even looked more expensive and beautiful compared to the ones people like them were using.

But , Eva belonged there...

But then again, She was a witch so she'd better just mind her business. She knew she was never going to eat there. Not in this life or the next.

She was staring at their table absentmindedly that she didn't notice someone who felt her gaze and was looking at her.

It was actually Simone. Her expression was calm as they stared at each other.

She was beautiful

Her hair was black like coal and was long and stretched. Her eyes a ruby red color. Her lips were small and red like blood

In her hand, she fiddled with a glass of blood.

Her brows furrowed together as she looked at Eva...it was actually her first time seeing her here so she didn't think other wise before standing up abruptly.

Eva quickly turned back to her food wishing that the princess wouldn't come over.

Davis was buried in his food when he noticed the way Simone stood up, her gaze fixed somewhere.

"There is a witch here" She said with a bitter sneer in her voice.

Davis didn't even look up from his food.

"Simone sit"

Simone looked at him in surprise and finally noticed that no one was bothered about it.

She sits down slowly.

"Would you care to explain.... she's not just a witch, that's Shirmona's granddaughter" She whispered.

Davis finally looked at her

"That's exactly why we should avoid her from now on. She says she's just here to study but I think she's here for a more complicated reason"

Arjana raised her pretty brow. Her fire yellow hair suited her pale blue skin well.

"I'd like to shred her to pieces. Who does she think she is anyway"

Fiona suddenly smirked as she stood.

"What are doing" Arjun asked.

They all knew Fiona well to know that when she smiled like that, she was up to no good.
