Terrible Nights

Now I left my home,

Feared to return with a tomb,

Yet eager to walk

In midst of the night,

Where smoke covers the starlight,

And gunshots are fired.

In this bloody dawn,

Let freedom runs through my bones,

And flags raised on poles.

Every trigger pull,

Aims for the world as a whole,

And joy for our souls.

With this terrible night,

Flowers will bloom in daylight,

And let peace burn bright.
