The Drive

Alex could see the expression on her face light up as soon as she heard the knock on the door. She knew that if she had not put the movie on, she wouldn't be able to stay still until she ruined her dress or even worse.

She had sat through the first thirty minutes of the movie without saying a word. It was what she was planning in her head that worried her.

She heaved a sigh as the doorbell rang, watching as Ella struggled not to shoot to her feet.

It was too late though. The fire in her eyes had gone off and it was obvious she wanted to be out of here more than anything.

This felt kind of nice, she thought to herself. It felt just like old times. She used to be the one to take care of her love life and this was no different from that.

She was still worried about this whole thing with her boss but she had resigned herself to knowing what was best for her and she not needing to butt in.
