Shade Of Sadness

She did not mean to blurt it out loud the way she did. The both of them knew exactly what she was asking but he smiled at her instead.

She wanted to let him know that she was loving the date but had blurted this instead. She was hopeless, she told herself. She had not meant to be so drawn to tis man but here she was. She was completely affected by him.

He smiled almost immediately as she had said it, choosing to ignore what it is she was implying. She was not sure she was correct in her count but this was probably the second time that he had done that. Maybe he was doing himself a favor more than he was doing one for her.

The waiter came back with her order faster than she had thought that he would. This was some excellent service, she said almost out loud.

"So, what do you think so far?" he asked her as he casually another bite from his chicken.

"What is that?" She asked him, as she watched the waiter place her plate on the table.
