A New Beginning

"Honey," have you gotten Carl's lunch packed yet? I asked, trying to hide the obvious disgust that I felt in my gut.

My husband was a proud proud man. It took a lot to actually bring him to the role of a family man. The two of us had started our lives pretty early and like I've been getting a lot, that was bad.

I met Jay when I was in college. It was the usual love at first sight and like I was told again, it didn't always last. The man always felt the need to have more.

Well, I wanted more too but I stayed faithful to him. There were so many things in my life that I never got around to doing.

I had always wanted to travel the world and see what it had to offer. I wanted to start my own business, take risks and do stupid things. Kind of like the ones teenagers and adolescents took every day. I never got to do any of that. It was a let down now that I think back at it. It made me feel an emptiness inside that I couldn't quite explain.
