Chapter 5: Old Man Liu

"What am I hearing about pregnancy?! Who's pregnant?!"

A old but cold voice rang in the living room.

Everywhere became silent as they turned to see who was talking.

Old Man Liu!

An old man in his late eighties, gently strode in with his walking stick and a butler beside him. Mu Roulan happily skipped to the old man's side.

"Dad, your grandson is so unfilial. He refused to send Fang Mengran away. Now that he's married, he still refuses to send her away", Mu Roulan complained.

"Who did he get married to? Is it that same girl you told me about?" Old Man Liu was already curious to meet Fenxi.

Mu Roulan signalled for Fenxi to come over and greet her grandfather in law. Fenxi obediently walked over to his side.

"Good morning grandfather", she gently bowed.

Old Man Liu was already satisfied with what was in front of him.

He broke into a smile, "Such a well behaved girl. Butler Qin, give a red packet".

Mengran felt nothing but hatred for Fenxi.

She just met the Liu family but she had received two red packets from them.

"Thank you grandfather", Fenxi appreciated, holding the two red packets.

Now it was time to deal with this problem.

"Liu Hua! You are now married. Lots of responsibilities rest on your shoulder. You have to stop all this child's play and face reality. You and that girl can't get married as long as I'm still alive", Old Man Liu said as he stomped his stick on the ground.

"Father, talk some senses into him! His wife is pregnant but he wastes his time on that slut", Mu Roulan only felt disgust for Mengran.

"Grandfather, I had done all you told me to do. I got married to Bai Fenxi. And yes, I will be responsible for my unborn child but please leave I and Mengran alone", Liu Hua cleared his mind.

Bai Fenxi had that coming so she just bowed her head a little in guilt.

She felt that Liu Hua was wronged because of her. If it wasn't for her mistakes, he wouldn't be separated from the love of his life. She was to blame for all that was happening.

"Fine! Do what you want but I hope one day you will regret your decision", Old Man Liu said before facing Fenxi, "My dear, I'm very sorry for what my unfilial grandson had put you through but don't worry I'm here for you so as the Liu family".

Bai Fenxi only smiled.

Bai Fenxi packed her things to move in to the Liu Mansion. Her mother and her bade their farewells before she left.

Her room was already arranged before she arrived. She liked the room. It was her style.

"I only know few about you so I didn't your style of design. I hope you like it", Mu Roulan said.

"Mom! I love it! It's definitely my style", Bai Fenxi said smiling.

"Good to know that you like it. Well, I will leave you to arrange your things", Mu Roulan said before leaving.

Bai Fenxi sat on the soft bed. She gently touched her stomach.

"Little one, I hope one day your father accepts us", She gently said while rubbing her stomach. She stood up to unpack her luggage.

Not too long, a maid knocked on her door. Calling her out for dinner.

That's right, she was going to have dinner with the Liu family.

She couldn't help but feel nervous but the maid assured her that everything would be fine.

At the dinner table, Old Man Liu sat in the middle, Liu Hua and Fang Mengran sat together and Mu Roulan sat at the other side. She had already saved a seat for Fenxi beside her.

"Xi'er, you can sit beside me", Roulan happily said. Fenxi was really grateful that she didn't have to sit with Liu Hua.

Everyone started eating.

"So Fenxi, I heard from Roulan that you are taking music class", Old Man Liu diverted his attention to Fenxi.

Fenxi nodded.

"Yes grandfather. My dream is to become a artiste".

Old Man Liu smiled.

"That's great. You are full of ambition. I like that".

Mengran gripped her fork.

"Thank you grandfather".

"Of course father. My daughter in law is very talented", Mu Roulan praised her.

Old Man Liu turned to Liu Hua.

"Liu Hua! I want you to look for the best music school in Country A and follow Fenxi for enrollment".

Liu Hua only nodded.

Mengran suddenly lost her appetite. She couldn't let Liu Hua and Fenxi to get close at all.

She suddenly thought of an idea.

"Hua! But you promised me that you'd accompany me to the hospital to know why my stomach hurts", She gently said.

"Don't worry Mengran we can go after I drop Bai Fenxi of to her school", He patted her hand.

Roulan scoffed.

"Why don't we go together? I don't want you to stress yourself by coming back to pick me".

"Okay then. We will go together", Liu Hua couldn't say no to her.

"You had better not say you're pregnant because we are not going to accept a bastard in our clan", Mu Roulan bitterly snorted. Liu Hua could only glared at his mom but she didn't spare him a glance as she focused on her food.

After dinner, everyone headed to their room. Mu Roulan followed Bai Fenxi to her room.

"Don't worry my dear, I'm sure Hua will finally come back to his senses one day", Mu Roulan consoled her.

"You don't have to worry about me mom. I'll be fine", Fenxi assured.

"Okay then. Get a good rest", Roulan hugged her before leaving.

Fenxi went to freshen up. She got dressed and ready for bed. Finally getting under the covers, she could only imagine how her life will be in the Liu family. Well she had to think positive, she said to herself before closing her eyes to slumber.

Tomorrow was another day for her and she had to embrace it.
