Chapter 10 The Illegitimate Prince

"The King of the Kingdom of Obsidian has written to Her Majesty the Queen to offer His will."

"Obsidian? Are those Southerners finally showing their true colors? "The nobleman frowned," but how old was their crown prince? I remember he is only 6 or 7?"

The old man laughed a little: "The King of the Kingdom of Obsidian has claimed an illegitimate son, His Highness Prince Edward. The King of the Kingdom of Obsidian had expressed His Majesty's will to bond. And I guess His Highness the Prince, who had just made a stunning turnaround, is already on his way to the Silver Moon Castle. "

The old man sighed deeply: "Henry, now that the Kingdom of Silver Moon  is in internal and external trouble, and the Queen is too young to handle this difficult situation, she didn't earn enough trust from her own people. The people now are anxious and eagerly for the birth of a male heir."

The nobleman smiled coldly: "Do the people want a male heir, or do you want one, your grace?"

The old man smiled: "how about you? Henry? Don't you want one?"

The nobleman was silent for a moment and, avoiding the subject, added: "Elizabeth  will not accept the fool's proposal. She will certainly refuse."

The old man nodded slightly: "Right, probably Queen Elizabeth  will spoil the marriage proposal again. But we do need a male heir in urgent need. The Queen must marry as soon as possible and give birth to an heir. If you're not going to be the King, it will be another foreign prince.

But the Queen has already rejected almost all the foreign princes in the right circumstances. Except for the  Prince Edward, the prince of the Kingdom of Obsidian."

An angry look appeared on the nobleman's face, and this was the first time Susan had seen his emotions flowing.

"It took me five years to drive those barbarians of the Kingdom of Obsidian back to their old den, and now with an illegitimate child,  you want me to bow to them?"

"I know, I know." The old man patted the noble man's shoulder with relief. "therefore, the Kindom of Silver Moon needs you, needs you to be our king."

The nobleman hesitated, he looked at the old man and fell into silence.

"You know, among these high-ranking nobles all around the country, those suitable for the Queen, the age,  single, good look, apart from you, I can't  find a second one." The old man added.

The nobleman's expression was somber.

Poor Queen.

Susan thought secretly that, at first, she thought they were trying to murder the Queen. Later, it became clear that they were only trying to get the Queen married, have children, and spend most of her time in the royal garden to return the ruling power to a man.

In this world where men are in power, the Queen is so helpless. Even the highest-ranking woman in the country can't control her own marriage. Not to mention her inherent power, which is also precarious.

"you are asking me to sell my marriage in exchange for power," said the nobleman gloomily.

"If I willed to do that, I would have been married."

"What do you think marriage is? Henry? "The old man said slowly," love? Child? Yes, those are important, but the essence of marriage is the most sacred contract between the two families. Henry, your father's family didn't need to be enhanced through marriage, so he married a civilian girl he loved.

But now, Abercorn and Leinster have become a constraint on you in the council. Your proposal has been rejected frequently just because the two men are working together against you. "

The nobleman sneer: "I haven't put those two clowns in my eyes yet."

"Yes, yes, Henry, of course, they are nothing to you. You have the country's largest and most fertile fiefdom, and half the country's soldiers are loyal to you. You have served as regent for many years, and you have a great reputation and authority among the common people.

But Henry, those who love you will not be able to play a role in council, nor will they be able to get your proposal adopted."

The face of the nobility was sore. Susan thought that the old man was telling the truth and was poking at his pain.

"If you have the support from the Queen, Henry, those people  will never have any chance to go against you ."

"I'll talk to the Queen." The nobleman was gloomy.

The old man shook his head slightly: "Henry, I don't want to say that, but if you don't, then I have to suggest that Duke Abercorn adopt a son and propose to the Queen. that's a bad choice indeed, but it's better than having an illegitimate prince as the King. "
