Chapter 29 Lady Bailey

Susan's heart was heavy.

As a newcomer on her first day at work, her day was a little too exciting.

Wandering around the palace, stealing the queen's afternoon tea, hiding under the table to eavesdrop on Princess Mary and the Chief of the Praetorian Guard's secret affairs, and worse,  being discovered by the Chief of the Praetorian Guard himself on the site. Gosh, any one of these would be enough to send her to jail.

Susan tied to find cheer amidst bitterness and wondered what the Duke would look like if he found out that his female subordinate had been so "Competent" on her first day. It must have been an expression of regret for choosing the wrong person to be a spy. Susan wished she could see the Duke's face with her own eyes. It must be very interesting.

Thinking of this, Susan's mood was a little better, but she did not expect to just turn the corner of the corridor and nearly collide with a group of people.
