The True Side of Felix

"Wedding?" Holly almost screamed.

Holly just remembered. If she became Queen, she would have to marry the King, which was Felix.

"Yes. We should have a wedding soon. But I have another plan."

Hearing that, Holly immediately took a serious look. She hoped Felix would change his mind and break the marriage. Who knows, she can become Queen without having to get married.

"I will postpone our marriage."

Holly restrained herself from cheering. What she wanted came true. Even though Felix didn't completely cancel it, but the delay wasn't a bad thing.

"I agree!" Holly exclaimed excitedly.

"But you will be a Queen in two days."

Holly's jaw dropped. "How can I become Queen if I don't marry the King? Looks like we have to postpone the inauguration too."

"Of course it can if that's what I want."

Holly's hands clenched in annoyance. "But you said I was already your Queen."

Holly tried to find an excuse so that the inauguration did not happen. She just needed the status from Felix, letting people know that she was the Queen. But a formal inauguration will really tie her down.

"Of course, you've been the Queen ever since I wanted you to. But we still have to hold an inauguration so that your position is recognized." Felix still looked calm.

Holly couldn't argue anymore. The King always got what he wanted. Holly knew the rules.

Felix smiled contentedly. At least he didn't smirk again because Holly hated it so much.

Felix raised his hand, telling Holly to eat again, but Holly's appetite was gone.

"What should I do if I become Queen?"

Deep down in her heart, Holly wished she didn't have to do anything. But on the other side, she knew what it was like to be a Queen. His father used to take Holly to attend a party at the palace. She saw how the Queen always worked hard to socialize. For the most hated person like Holly, that would be impossible to do.

"You will be a Luna," said Felix. His face was severe again, with eyes looking straight at Holly.

"And what is Luna again?" It wasn't the first time Holly heard it. She still has no clue what Luna means.

"We call the mate of the King as Luna. And that will be you."

Holly nodded her head. Sound better than what she thought.

"You will be worshipped like a Goddess."

Once again, Holly's jaw dropped. "I will be... What?"

"Basically, Luna is the name of our Goddess. She's The Goddess of the moon."

Holly didn't understand how Felix could explain so calmly. Likely, he forgot several important things.

"How come they worship someone they hate? I'm a human, and they hate me."

Felix shrugged. "Those are the problems. I can't wait to see what they will do if the Luna is a human."

Felix faced it like it was just a game. He doesn't know what his people would do if their Goddess was human. Maybe things can get better or even worse.

Meanwhile, Holly couldn't do anything. She could only bite her turkey without enthusiasm anymore. She will be a Goddess. What kind of joke was that?

"I will show you your task as a Queen tomorrow. Now, go get some rest."

Felix couldn't help but smile when he saw Holly lose her strength. She looked like a child who had lost her candy.

[She's cute.]

The next day, the meeting room that had been deserted for six hundred years was now bustling. Several people dressed like nobles sat on the meeting chairs.

"I will not oppose your decision about the Queen, Your Majesty. But one thing for sure, we can not let our guard down when it comes to humans," said the old man with a long beard.

The people in the room nodded in agreement. Felix couldn't immediately refute. After all, these people had taken care of his kingdom during his absence.

"What do you want?" Felix asked, even though he already knew what they really wanted.

They looked at each other before replying, "War."

As Felix expected, they wanted revenge. For everything they have been through, Felix can't judge them. It was reasonable that they tried to get revenge on humans.

"We have to take our kingdom back!" A man with a scar on his cheek exclaimed. Felix knew him well, Astragus, the old man who used to be very loyal to Felix's father. Which made Felix should be careful with him.

Everyone shouted in agreement. They have only been hiding for hundreds of years, letting humans colonize their kind. But with Felix's presence, the table can be turned. It's very easy for Felix to beat all the humans. His presence itself was a nightmare for humans.

Unfortunately, that wasn't what Felix wanted. War will only make things worse. Many lives will be sacrificed, both humans and werewolves will be harmed.

But Felix didn't come without plans. He also did not make Holly a Queen for no reason.

"No war." That one sentence from Felix was enough to make the room boisterous.

"Your Majesty, this-"

Felix cut them with a growl. Everyone went silent. Against a growling Alpha King would be the worst idea.

"No objections," he said.

No one dared to talk. With that, one by one, they started out of the room. Felix, Gilbert and Cass were left in there.

"You better do something before they start a rebellion." Cass broke the silence. "They've suffered enough because of you."

Cass sat on the table while Gilbert was still standing beside Felix. Felix never objected to Cass's careless attitude. They have known each other since childhood. Cass had done a lot for Felix. Moreover, after Justin left, only Cass and Gilbert he could trust now.

"I know. I have a plan. We can get our kingdom back without war."

"And how is that?" Cass was still demanding an explanation.

Felix didn't intend to answer. He kept silent. There were many things he must confirm before sharing his plan.

"At least tell us why you chose that woman as a Queen. It's not a simple matter, you know that." Gilbert asked.

Under these circumstances, they no longer care about whether Felix was the King or their friend. They had known Felix longer than anyone. They also knew Felix would not act rashly without thinking.

"You chose Holly so that humans and werewolves can unite, isn't it?" Cass made the most accurate guess. Felix gave her a slight nod as an answer.

Cass sighed. She knew him too well, Felix was the only person who hated war.

"But what if that woman hates humans too?" Cass asked with a slight smile.

Felix frowned. "There is no way humans want to eliminate each other."

"You don't see what she's been through. And there have been several wars between humans. They start killing each other just for trivial reasons."

Felix agrees with that. After all that Holly has been through, it was understandable if Holly hated those humans. And Felix promised himself to never let Holly go through that again. But it was impossible for Holly to eliminate her fellow humans. Holly was too kind, soft and beautiful to do that.

"Then why did you stab her instead? You should have treated her well and earned her trust." Gilbert took the chair beside Felix and sat down with him.

"Gil, didn't you notice. Felix just pretended he didn't care about her in front of everyone, so they wouldn't see Holly as Felix's weakness."

"I still can't see the point."

"He wants to keep that woman safe."

Cass smiled meaningfully. Felix tried to ignore the stare. He did not deny it because what Cass said was true. Choosing Holly a Queen was like two sides of the sword. Holly could get safety with that idea. But once Holly becomes Felix's weakness, his enemies won't hesitate to hurt her.

Meanwhile, Gilbert tried to hide his smile. "So you care for her," he mumbled.

Now Gilbert knew why Felix was so panicked when that woman collapsed with a bloody chest. After the crowd left, Felix immediately carried Holly to her room and shouted for a physician. He knew himself that Holly couldn't die, but he still panicked like crazy.

"I'm only responsible for her," Felix argued.

Felix kept repeating in his mind. [I'm just doing my duty as King. I take responsibility for dragging her into this matter. That's all, no more, no less.]

Cass chuckled. "Whatever it is, you better take back your palace soon. You are lucky to be immortal. Otherwise, my father would have killed you."

Of course, of all the people who wanted to kill Felix, Astragus stood in the first line. But that doesn't lessen Felix's trust in Cass. Their father and daughter relationship wasn't that good. After all, Cass helped Felix to get his throne.

"I need to go." Felix stood up hastily. He had an appointment to fulfil. Holly must have been waiting for him.
