"Who is Arthur?"
Holly was wide-eyed. Felix asked just as she was thinking about Arthur. What a coincidence!
"Can werewolves read minds?" asked Holly with suspicious eyes.
This wasn't the first time Felix had said something similar to her thoughts. Besides, Holly didn't think she'd ever told him about Arthur.
Meanwhile, Felix looked at her while raising one eyebrow. "If I could read minds, I wouldn't have to ask."
That was true. But Holly was still suspicious of him. The coincidence was a thing that made no sense to her.
"How did you know about Arthur? I never told you."
"Do you have any bad memories of him? Do you want to forget him?" Felix rushed her with many questions.
Actually, he wanted to ask this a few days ago. This question had been spinning in his head for a long time, but he didn't manage to say it either. After returning to this village, Felix was sure that Holly would definitely think about her past, and of course, Arthur would be a part of that past.
But who is Arthur?
"He's my brother," answered Holly as she fixed her cloak. She made sure no one overheard them in the crowded market.
Felix stood still. A smile appeared without him realizing it. Fresh air entered his lungs, and he felt very relieved.
"I didn't know you had a brother," he said still with that smile.
Holly looked at him in confusion. Why did he smile like that? If she thought about it, Felix recently smiled at her more often. Well, Holly doesn't mind. She was happy to see Felix's smile rather than his smirk. He looked more sincere.
"Yes. That's my question. How did you know about Arthur? I never told anyone."
"When you were sick... Ah, I mean when you were drunk with berries. Do you remember? When you suddenly hugged me and said I-"
Holly hastily covered Felix's mouth with her hand. Her face was as red as a tomato from being reminded of the embarrassing incident. Enough, Holly didn't want to hear any further.
However, Holly wasn't the only one blushing here. She didn't realize that Felix's face was red.
"There's no need to talk about that anymore," Holly said shyly as she removed her hand from Felix's mouth.
"You forgot I'm still the King here," Felix said quietly. He cleared his throat to cover his nervousness.
"Sorry, Your Majesty." Holly didn't seem sincere about it. Her face was still as annoyed as before.
"You're lucky. If you were a commoner, I would have beheaded you." Felix continued on his way, side by side with Holly through the bustle of the market.
They were more relaxed. Everyone seemed busy with their activities. There was no time to glance at them. Felix even stopped several times in front of the seller to have a look.
"What happens if the immortal is beheaded? Will their head be connected again?"
Felix shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe a new head will grow. You want to try it?"
Holly tipped back. "No, thank you."
They stopped in front of a beef seller. Felix's eyes sparkled like he saw a prey. "I haven't eaten beef in a long time. We don't keep cows in the forest."
Holly rummaged through her pocket for something. She managed to save some coins when exiled to the forest. But those coins would not be enough even to buy a small piece.
Felix calmly took out something from under his robes. A hunk of gold!
"I'll trade them for this," Felix said to the seller.
Holly gaped in shock. Felix certainly didn't know that they could buy things with coins in this era instead of bartering. But who needs coins if they have gold.
The seller looked surprised. She watched Felix closely, but she immediately acted friendly when she saw his face.
"Sure, My Lord." The seller immediately prepared all the meat.
[Tsk! The privilege of good looking!] Holly rolled her eyes.
If Felix wasn't handsome, the seller would have thought he was a thief. Just like Holly had experienced, being accused as a thief just because of her appearance.
Holly covered her face, but Felix didn't really care if his face was showing. Several people began to pay attention to him while waiting for the seller to prepare the meat. Holly pulled Felix's hood back to cover his face.
"How do we carry it?" Holly whispered.
Felix raised his hand. "Come out."
For a moment, nothing happened. Suddenly a group of people appeared. At first, Holly thought they were just regular shoppers, but then she realized their bodies were bigger than everyone else's. They were the knights Cass had ordered to follow them. Of course, Felix had noticed their presence since leaving the castle.
"Two of you, take this and share it with everyone."
They nodded and then took Felix's place to wait for the meat to be wrapped. While the others disappeared again, blending in with other residents like shadows.
"They're great," Holly muttered in awe. Along the way, she forgot she was being followed. But Felix was even better because he could tell right away.
They continued their walk down a quieter road. Several carriages passed them, carrying nobles Holly might know.
Holly's mood was suddenly gloomy. She knew where this road led.
After a few minutes of walking, they stopped in front of a house. Holly's previous house.
The house's fence was still strong, but it could be seen from the outside that the house was no longer maintained. Holly was expelled after what happened five years ago, and the house was taken over by the King.
"From the way you look at it, this must be the Reloux residence?" Felix noticed that Holly's eyes started to tear up when they arrived at the house's front gate.
"It was," answered Holly quietly.
Felix understood her feeling. "It was my home too."
Holly looked at him in disbelief. But Felix just gave her a weak smile.
"I was born and raised here."
"I thought you lived in the palace." Holly still can't process this information. Her house was his?
"Only the King and the Crown Prince live in the palace. I never am."
He became a King because he killed the previous King. Holly gulped. But rather than being afraid, she felt pity for him. He must have been through so many things.
"At least I'm glad someone had the chance to occupy this house again. Before it ended up like this." Felix's eyes met Holly's. Holly's heart pounded, her breath caught, and her body stiffened.
There were always connections between their stories, no matter what era they came from. Those things made Holly feel closer to him. It was like they were destined to meet.
"Your Majesty."
A voice from behind them messed up the atmosphere. Felix and Holly turned their heads instantly. A man was looking at Felix with wide eyes. He knew who Felix was.
