Chapter 7: The Alpha's Choice

For the first time since that almost imperceptible moment at the table, though she’d been invited to sit next to him over the following week, that moment had not replicated itself, nor had he given her more than a passing glance or slight reaction to moments she found herself within his proximity.

“I…” she swallowed against a creak in her throat as she began to back away. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t move,” he ordered and she was compelled to stand frozen in place. Her legs felt weak as her middle began to quiver. Her breath became little more than shallow movements as tingles of excitement more than anticipated his next command. “Get on the bed.”
