The ship set sail within the hour after Malcolm determined the ship was well stocked and they’d be able to eat and drink for the duration of the journey to the Fated Islands.


Desiree took Bluebell and located the cabin that obviously belonged to her sister. Paintings of her mother and grandmother that had been in their home were against the walls. Stepping inside of it, Desiree found herself immersed in the persona of a little sister she realized she did not know at all. Drawings and poems rested on the side table. On the bed, lay layers of quilts that Desiree sent to her over the last three years. On the table near the basin were her comb, brush, and a mirror. At the top of a small trunk, Desiree found fine dresses she must have just acquired.
