Chapter 15: The Unforgettable Mistake

Michael’s POV

Eric left my room not too long after his attempt at fatherly advice. I looked at the full Hennessy bottle on my nightstand. I had barely made a dent in the bottle; it could pass for unopened. I grabbed the bottle taking a large gulp of the drink.

As much as I hated to admit it, Eric was right. Jane deserved a chance from me. It wasn't like anything was holding us back. Disliking her personality wasn't a good enough reason to abandon the marriage. Both, Eric, and Jane were under the impression that I could, and would grow to like or love her.

I was no stranger to the truth. I was like my mother — opinionated and headstrong. Once we made up our minds, it was set. Though I was set on my future with Jane. She could and would never have my heart.
