Chapter 20: The Engagement Party

Michael’s POV

My stomach turned. Something about today seemed wrong from the start. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, a blank expression on my face. Though I hated the salmon color that Jane had picked, it looked presentable when placed beside the light grey suit that she approved for me. At least I never had to worry about my wife's style.

A knock came from the door behind me and opened. Jack's reflection showed behind my own. He wore a similar suit with the same colors and had a look of distaste on his face.

"Cheer up, it's for a couple of hours and the colors aren't that bad."

I spoke honestly. Though these were not my dream wedding colors, they could have also been much worse. She could have had us look like a bunch of clowns.

"The guy I know vowed to have navy blue and a backbone when it came to his wedding."
