Chapter 25: Heart in Havana

Michael’s POV

My heart had been hammering in my chest since I got Jack's text. He had spoken to Havana, and she was interested in meeting in private. She had told Jack that she wanted to talk to me because she didn't get to say what she wanted at the engagement party.

The digital clock on the mahogany dresser ticked off another minute. Where was he? Didn't he know I was nervous enough? Just because I had anticipated that Havana would forgive me did not guarantee that she would.

I had once again, successfully avoided Jane today, but that's because I hadn't tried to leave my room. Whatever work that I needed to get done, I had brought to me and taken away when I was finished. Jane had made my study the official wedding planning room. I allowed her to enjoy it for now because, after tonight, I was sending her home.
