Chapter 28: The Avoidance

Azrel

“Thank you for joining me.” Azrel settled the excitement of the war room. He had called them early in the morning to meet. They sat nervously around the table waiting for Azrel to explain the urgency. “I know that what I am about to propose may seem impractical, but please just listen to what I have to say.”

Azrel watched as the counselors whispered to each other.

Eventually Trager spoke up. “Please, your highness, tell us what is going on?”

Azrel stood from his seat and took a wooden figure and moved it across the table. He poked at a village on the map.

“We are going to attack the rebel occupied town of Urvel.” A chorus of voices popped up, but Azrel hushed them by tapping on the table sharply. “This town has a main pipeline of supplies to the main fort of Fernasses. By taking this town back we cut off their supplies.”

“Why the sudden urgency near the west?” Trager asked. “Doesn't it seem more like a job for Khanthar’s army?”
